If the rumors are true, Apple is working on its third-gen Apple Watch which could be unveiled alongside the new iPhones on the 12th of September, which is tomorrow. However none of this has been confirmed, but it seems that we might have gotten additional corroboration about the device thanks to Verizon.
It was noticed by users on Reddit (via 9to5Mac) that Verizon’s app made mention of the Apple Watch Series 3 in one of the configuration screens used to adding a device. This is particularly interesting because one of the rumored features of the Apple Watch Series 3 is LTE connectivity, meaning that Verizon could be one of the carriers to offer Apple Watch Series 3 owners a plan for their smartwatch.
Now whether not this is Verizon simply speculating and getting themselves ready for the possibility of a launch remains to be seen, but as 9to5Mac notes, the leaked iOS 11 GM build does not seem to make any mention of the Apple Watch Series 3. It does reference the Series 1 and Series 2, so it’s strange that the Series 3 was not mentioned.
However that doesn’t mean the device doesn’t exist. In fact recent reports have revealed that the Apple Watch app is displaying a smartwatch with a new face and new digital crown, and there has also been mention of potential new finishes, but we guess we will find out all the official details tomorrow.

It is safe to say that Samsung has not only managed to redeem themselves with the Galaxy Note 8, but it looks like they also have another winner flagship smartphone on their hands. Recent reports have indicated that Samsung might have sold close to 400,000 units on its first day, and it looks like Samsung could be breaking some records stateside too.
A report from The Korea Herald (via SamMobile) has revealed that Samsung has apparently broke some records in the US as far as pre-orders for the Note 8 are concerned. It seems that in the entire Galaxy Note series of smartphones, the Note 8 is the company’s most reserved smartphone to date, although we guess this shouldn’t really come as a surprise.
Unfortunately Samsung has not provided any official figures as far as the Note 8’s pre-orders in the US are concerned, but if it is supposedly the most-reserved smartphone in the Note range to date, then we guess the numbers should be pretty high. So far reviews of the Note 8 have been largely positive, thanks to its bezel-less design and dual camera setup.
We expect that Samsung will reveal some official figures in terms of sales and how much the handset has generated in their next financials, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for that.

While there are some who purchase a brand new smartphone every year, there are those who purchase a smartphone and hold onto it for the next 2-3 years, or even longer. Given that smartphone prices appear to be on the rise, it isn’t surprising that not everyone is willing to spend $1,000 a year on a brand new flagship.
However this also means that customers need to know whether or not the phone they bought can be sustained over the 2-3 years they keep them. Unfortunately for those who plan to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, it seems that repairing the phone could be a rather difficult/expensive task, or at least according to the folks at iFixit who have done their customary teardown of the phone and gave it a 4 out of 10 in terms of repairability.
According to iFixit’s teardown, one of the main problems with the Note 8 in terms of repairability would be its battery which has some pretty tough adhesive on it, and the fact that it is glued to the rear panel which makes it tricky to replace. The glass panel also has a bunch of adhesive on it which makes removing it hard and if done wrongly could cause it to break/crack.
However the upside is that the components are modular which means that they can be replaced independently, making repairs potentially cheaper, unless you’re looking to replace the battery or display, which like we mentioned above is where it gets tricky. We should point out that the Note 8’s score is the same as the Note 7, and 4 out of 10 is actually not so bad given that we’ve seen phones that have scored much worse.

It used to be back in the day that one app performed pretty much one task. However given that switching between apps isn’t quite as quick compared to on the PC, swapping between apps can sometimes be slow and troublesome. However for those who use the LINE messenger app, Naver has updated the app to help make sharing YouTube links easier.
In addition to being able to send photos, videos, or voice messages, users will now have the option to share YouTube videos directly within LINE itself. This will send a link to the YouTube video in question to the person you are chatting to, and at the same time it will provide an in-chat video player so that users can watch the video directly without having to leave the app.
It should also be noted that the in-chat video player has been brought over to Android, whereas previously it was only available on the iPhone. In addition to the ability to share YouTube videos quickly and easily, the update will bring about new brushes that users can use to edit their photos with, as well as send comments and send hearts during LINE LIVE broadcasts, which admittedly looks a lot like Instagram’s Live feature.
The update should already be live so head on over either the iTunes App Store or Google Play to get your hands on the update.

Apple has yet to officially announce their new iPhones, which means that we have no idea when they will be made available. However in the meantime it seems that there are reports that suggests that the iPhone X could be delayed and might not be released alongside the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.
It is unclear as to what the problem might be, but some are suggesting that it could be due to the OLED displays in which Apple is asking Samsung to separate the display and the touch panel, which is additional work and could slow down the process, however a report from Rosenblatt analyst Jun Zhang has suggested that it could be the metal frame around the iPhone X that could cause the delay.
Unfortunately no additional details were provided about the reasoning behind this delay, but like most other analysts, Zhang still believes the iPhone X will be announced alongside the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, except that its release could be delayed to potentially late October or even later, whereas the “standard” models should be released in a couple of weeks following their announcement as per Apple’s standard practices.
Of course it remains to be seen if that is really the case, but we should be able to find out for ourselves tomorrow. In the meantime some are saying that the delay could be bad news for Apple as it could mean that customers could jump ship to other brands because they don’t want to wait.

It’s hard, but not impossible, to escape Google these days. From Android phones, to the Chrome browser, to Google Search, to Gmail, almost everything that comes into our digital lives has a trace of Google, one way or another. That also means that it is ultimately harder to escape Google’s tracking systems, especially when it’s hard to see what Google … Continue reading
If you haven’t heard of WiGig yet, don’t fret. It might not matter anymore anyway. Advertised by the Wi-Fi Alliance last year as the future of Wi-Fi and the IoT industry, WiGig just lost one of its biggest supporters. Well, somewhat. Intel has just told partners that it will be discontinuing controllers and cards for what is formally known as … Continue reading
