All iPhone X Models Rumored To Sport Black Bezels Regardless Of Color

Apple initially started out by offering its iPhone in a black finish, but later threw in white as one of the options. Over the years, we’ve seen Apple start to get more “creative” by introducing more color options, where at the moment there are five different finishes for users to choose from. In fact it has been rumored that there could be a new color option in the form of Blush Gold.

However it seems that as far as the iPhone X is concerned, regardless of color finish it looks like they will all sport black bezels. The iPhone X, for those unfamiliar, will be the 10th anniversary iPhone launched by Apple and will be the third model launched alongside the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

One of the rumored features is that it will sport a display with a bezel-less design (or at least as close to a bezel-less design as possible), which means that if the bezel were to sport a similar color to the back finish, it could be rather distracting and ruins the illusion. This is why KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that all iPhone X models will have a black bezel regardless of the color of the phone itself.

This might not necessarily seem like a big deal, but assuming it is true/accurate, it is actually a pretty smart idea since it does help to create a rather cohesive look, but in any case we should find out for ourselves in a couple of days.

Apple Watch With New Face And Digital Crown Spotted In Video

It is widely expected that this coming Tuesday, Apple will take the wraps off the new Apple Watch Series 3. The rumors are saying that for the most part, the Apple Watch Series 3 will retain the same design, but will offer up LTE connectivity, something that has been missing from the Apple Watch ever since its launch.

Now in a recently leaked copy of the iOS 11 GM, it seems that the third-gen Apple Watch might have been revealed. This is according to the Watch app that is launched with the iOS 11 GM build, and at the start it shows the image of the Apple Watch Series 3 with a new watch face, as well as a new digital crown with a red dot in the middle.

While we can’t say with certainty, it has been speculated that the red dot could represent the LTE antenna for the Apple Watch Series 3, which is entirely possible. In addition to the slight change in design, the iOS 11 GM leak has also revealed two possible new Apple Watch color options, which includes an aluminum body with a Blush Gold color finish (which we heard could also be a potential iPhone color), and a new Apple Watch Edition in a ceramic gray finish.

Either way we should have all the official details in a couple of days, so be sure to check back with us then if you’d like to learn more about it.

Analyst Details How Apple’s Face ID Camera In The iPhone X Will Work

Facial scanning technology isn’t new, and we have seen it employed for use in Android devices in the past, although for the most part it seems that they can be bypassed easily using photos of the user. This has many wondering about Apple’s upcoming iPhone X, in which it is rumored that it will sport facial recognition in place of Touch ID.

For those curious about the feature, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has published a note to investors that was obtained by AppleInsider that details how the system will work. According to the note, the system will rely on four main components which includes a structured light transmitter, a structured light receiver, a front camera, and a time of flight/proximity sensor.

The light transmitter and receiver will be used to help collect depth information and is integrated with 2D image data taken with the front-facing camera. Together with the use of an algorithm, it will be combined to help create a 3D composite of the user’s face. Now you might have heard that one of the rumored features of the system is that it can apparently be used even when the phone is flat on the table, and according to Kuo, the facial recognition system has a hard cap estimated to be between 50-100 centimeters, so there is still a bit of leeway in terms of how close you have to be to the phone for it to work.

So far there have been claims that Apple’s facial recognition system will be somewhat revolutionary compared to existing systems. It is said to work in millionths of a second, and that the competition is still years away from being able to offer up something similar, but whether or not these claims are true remains to be seen.

Uber Wants Its London Drivers To Use EVs By 2025

By now it is pretty obvious that many carmakers are making the shift towards creating hybrids or full electric cars, where there will no longer be the need to consume fossil fuels in order to power them (or at least consume less). In fact recently in China, the government is hoping to set a deadline in which all fossil fuel-cars will be banned from being sold or made.

Over in the UK, it looks like Uber wants to do their part in pushing for EVs to become more mainstream, and have since announced a new initiative called “Clean Air Plan”. This is an initiative in which Uber is hoping to push all of its drivers in London to start driving EVs by 2025. Note that this is just for the London market, which means that the rest of the UK isn’t covered, but we suppose it’s a start.

The initiative also includes a fund in which drivers who do get on board with it will be able to claim up to £5,000 that they can use towards the purchase of a new hybrid or electric car, with Uber estimating that they will pay as much as £150 million over the lifetime of the program. In addition to this, Uber will also be launching a diesel scrappage program in London.

This will see the first 1,000 people who hand over a diesel vehicle with pre-Euro 4 emissions given £1,500 in Uber credits. According to Fred Jones, Uber’s Head of UK Cities, “Air pollution is a growing problem and we’re determined to play our part. Londoners already know many cars on our app are hybrids, but we want to go much further and go all electric in the capital.”
