Nokia 8 Android 8.0 Oreo Beta Released

HMD Global had recently said that an Android 8.0 Oreo beta program might be launched for some of its Nokia-branded handsets. It’s kicking things off today with the launch of the Nokia 8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta program. Those who join the program will be able to try out all of the new features and improvements that this update offers before the company actually rolls out the stable build to all users across the globe.

HMD’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas confirmed on Twitter earlier today that the Nokia 8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta program is now live. Interested users can access the beta through the Nokia phones beta labs.

Those who want to sign up for the beta will have to provide their handset’s IMEI number and operator. They’ll be shown disclaimers about backing up their data which is something that users wishing to get on the beta should certainly do.

It may take up to 12 hours for the beta update notification to show up on the device after the beta registration has been completed. Users can try manually checking for the update after they’ve registered, their handset is likely going to pull it from the server right away.

HMD Global is yet to confirm when it’s going to release the stable version of Android 8.0 Oreo for the Nokia 8.

Honda made an autonomous cooler and it’s amazing

There are plenty of very sensible reasons to go to the Tokyo Motor Show, but far more interesting are the oddball products from the weirder corners of Japanese engineers’ imaginations. Kinect creator Alex Kipman and Xbox GM Matthew Lapsen told Fast Co. that the company is finally end-of-lifing the peripheral, after… Read More
