Samsung Android 8.0 Oreo Release Expected Early Next Year

Samsung hasn’t rolled out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for any of its devices so far even though it has been a few months since Google released the update for its devices. The company is yet to confirm when the firmware update is going to be released. According to a new report, the Samsung Android 8.0 Oreo release is not going to take place until early next year.

Samsung Turkey has revealed on its official portal that the company has started working on the Android 8.0 Oreo update and that it’s going to be released for the company’s smartphones in the beginning of 2018.

No further details have been revealed by the company at this point in time. Samsung Turkey has not provided a particular timeline that the company is going to follow when it’s rolling out the update. It’s unclear which device will receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update when.

There has also been talk of a beta program for the Oreo update but Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything about it so far. The company did launch a beta program for the Nougat update last year so there’s a possibility that it might do the same for Android 8.0 Oreo as well at some point later this year.

Snapchat’s 60 Second Multi-Snap Videos Go Live On Android

Snapchat launched a couple of new features in July this year. The Multi-Snap feature enabled users to post up to six 10 second clips at a time so they had a total of 60 seconds to express themselves in video. This feature was initially only available on iOS devices but that changes today. Snapchat has now brought over its Multi-Snap feature to Android devices.

Users could only record videos of up to 10 seconds in length previously. It was part of Snapchat’s plan to keep things short and sweet. However, as it tries very hard to maintain its relevance and find new ways to engage with users, Snapchat has decided to embrace longer videos.

Android users can now record videos up to 60 seconds as well. Users can do this my just keeping their finger on the record button after the initial 10 second mark. The app will continue to record.

A little pane will be displayed to notify the user that they’ve already recorded 10 seconds of video. This is going to happen for every subsequent 10 second snap up to a total of 6.

Once the video clips have been recorded, users will have the ability to delete any of the individual 10 second clips. It will also be possible to add filters, text, and more to add flair to the clips. The finished video can be shared directly with friends or added to Stories.

Huawei Has Shipped Over 100 Million Smartphones So Far This Year

Huawei’s smartphone shipments have been picking up pace rapidly over the past few years. The company has now revealed that it shipped more than 100 million smartphones in the first three quarters of this year. It has seen a 19 percent year-over-year growth in the number of smartphones shipped in the first three quarters of a year.

The company has revealed that this growth has caused its operating revenue to surge by more than 30 percent in the January to September 2017 period. Huawei also increased the number of its worldwide retail outlets this year by 19 percent year-over-year to 42,300.

Huawei is certainly not going to rest on its laurels. The company is planning to launch more mid-range and high-end products to further expand its reach in the global smartphone market. It’s also going to work to improve its brand image.

It’s hopeful that it will be able to win more high-end customers. Huawei has more than 10,000 employees around the world that are dedicated to research and development. It’s hoping that they will come up with technologies that help the company sell more high-end devices, a segment of the market where profit margins are higher.

Huawei is racing towards the coveted spot of the world’s largest smartphone vendor, a position that has long been held by Samsung. It crossed Apple earlier this year to become the second largest vendor in the world. Huawei is already the top smartphone vendor in its home country of China.
