Original Xbox Backward Compatibility Games Surface In Microsoft Store

The Xbox One has offered backward compatibility for Xbox 360 titles for quite some time now. Microsoft surprised everyone at the E3 2017 gaming convention by announcing that the console will soon offer backward compatibility for some original Xbox titles as well. The feature might be ready to launch as some original Xbox backward compatible games have now surfaced in the online games marketplace for Xbox.

Microsoft confirmed at E3 2017 that the Xbox One will get support for some original Xbox games. The discs will work with the current-generation console, possibly as an authorization to gain access to an emulated digital copy of the game.

It’s similar to how Xbox 360 emulation works on the Xbox One right now. Those who own digital licenses to copies of original Xbox games will find them transferred to the Xbox One as well.

Some original Xbox titles have now surfaced in the store’s “games on demand” section. The titles include Neowave: The King of Fighters, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, BloodRayne 2, Dead to Rights, Prince of Persia, and Red Faction 2. They’re all available in the store now, priced at $9.99 and up.

Even though it’s possible to buy the digital copies of these games now, they’re not going to show up in the Xbox One dashboard. That’s likely because the feature requires a dashboard update before it goes live properly.

Microsoft has still not confirmed when it’s going to launch this feature officially.

HTC U11 Plus Leak Reveals Smaller Display Bezels

We’ve heard a lot of rumors and reports about an upcoming smartphone from HTC. The company is believed to be gearing up to launch the HTC U11 Plus next month. As the name suggests, it’s going to be a slightly improved version of the existing HTC U11 flagship. According to reports, it’s going to have a bezel-less display. The latest HTC U11 Plus leak highlights that possibility.

The latest HTC U11 Plus leak comes from TENAA, which is basically China’s FCC. TENAA has included an image of the device in a listing and the image gives us an idea of what to expect from this handset’s design.

The HTC U11 Plus looks like a slightly larger HTC U11 at first glance, and that’s essentially what it is. The display has smaller bezels which was been made possible by the new 6 inch 18:9 aspect ratio. The fingerprint sensor will also be relocated to the back.

The listing doesn’t provide any information about the specifications of this handset. If previous reports are anything to go by, the HTC U11 Plus is going to feature a Snapdragon 835 processor with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

HTC is expected to unveil the U11 Plus at the event that it has scheduled for November 2nd.

Latest OnePlus 5T Leak Offers Yet Another Glimpse

OnePlus hasn’t said anything about its plans to launch the much-rumored OnePlus 5T. The circumstantial evidence continues to mount and yet there’s not a word from the company about this so far. The latest OnePlus 5T leak offers us another glimpse at the device.

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 3 early last year. Around six months later in November, it launched the slightly updated OnePlus 3T. The company was expected to follow a similar release roadmap this year for the OnePlus 5.

Over the past few weeks, there have been many rumors about the OnePlus 5T. One recurring rumor is that it’s going to feature a bezel-less display. That would enable the company to increase the screen size without having to increase the dimensions of the device.

The bezel-less display is also highlighted in the leaked OnePlus 5T renders that surfaced online recently. We can also see this in the latest OnePlus 5T leak.

The latest leak apparently shows off a teaser of the new flagship smartphone from OnePlus. It’s clear as day that the handset will feature a bezel-less display that increases the size without increasing the dimensions.

OnePlus has still not confirmed if there is any truth to these rumors and if it’s going to come out with a new handset in the near future. Reports suggest that OnePlus is going to launch the OnePlus 5T at some point next month.

Galaxy S9 Might Have A Front-Mounted Fingerprint Sensor

There are a lot of Samsung fans that don’t like the idea of a fingerprint sensor at the back. They were vocal in their criticism of the move when Samsung decided to relocate the Galaxy S8’s fingerprint sensor to the back. It did the same thing with the Galaxy Note 8 as well. However, if a new patent application by Samsung is anything to go by, the company might switch back to a front-mounted fingerprint sensor for the Galaxy S9.

The Galaxy S9 isn’t due until the first quarter of next year so there’s a lot of time before we can be sure about what to expect from this device. Nothing is set in stone so far.

Samsung has filed for a patent with the South Korean authority Kipris. The patent filing details a small depression, basically a notch, at the bottom on the front of the device where a fingerprint sensor would be housed.

Inside the notch, there will be a super-fast fingerprint sensor. The notch itself would be small to ensure that the display remains bezel-less.

Samsung has long been rumored to be working on optical fingerprint recognition technology which would enable the company to place the fingerprint sensor inside the display itself.

However, the technology is reportedly not ready yet, so this might be the second-best solution that Samsung has to restore the fingerprint sensor to its former glory, as some would suggest.
