Critical Wi-Fi Vulnerability Has Already Been Patched By Microsoft

Researchers recently revealed a critical Wi-Fi vulnerability that affects all modern Wi-Fi networks. The vulnerability can enable attackers to eavesdrop on Wi-Fi traffic between devices and wireless access points. They can even use the vulnerability in some cases to inject malicious code into websites. Tech companies are now taking steps to ensure that their customers remain safe as word of this exploit continues to spread across the globe.

The security researchers who detailed this exploit have said that devices powered by Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux are all affected by the vulnerability.

Microsoft has been quick to issue a fix. The company has said that it’s patched the vulnerability for users on supported versions of Windows. Microsoft is going to public the details of this update later today so we’ll get to know precisely what the fix does.

“Customers who apply the update, or have automatic updates enabled, will be protected. We continue to encourage customers to turn on automatic updates to help ensure they are protected,” a spokesperson for Microsoft said in a statement.

Google has said that it’s working on a fix for affected devices and that it’s going to be released in the coming weeks. Apple is yet to confirm if the latest versions of macOS and iOS are vulnerable or not.
