Call Of Duty: WWII Early Release Copies Won’t Work Without Patch

In a few days, Activision’s next installment in the Call of Duty franchise will be released. However it seems that despite the release date being set, some retailers have apparently started to sell copies of the game, which would suggest that some gamers could be lucky enough to start playing before the rest of the world does.

For those who feels that this is a bit unfair, you can rest assured knowing that those who got their hands on the early release will not be able to play the game just yet. In a report from Charlie Intel, it seems that the game will not be playable until players download the day one patch. This means that even though you can launch the game, you won’t be able to access any of its features until the patch is downloaded, which will be released on launch day itself.

This seems to also affect single-player mode, not just multiplayer, but we guess that makes sense since we’re sure that Sledgehammer Games probably doesn’t want those gamers to give away any clues or spoilers for the game ahead of its release. We’re not sure if this was intentional by design or if it was a happy coincidence, but either way it all kind of works out.

However it does highlight the fact that you will need to be connected to the internet on day one just to download the patch, so if you were hoping to stay offline, maybe not.

Nintendo Switch Is Canada’s Best-Selling Console For 2017

The success of the Nintendo Switch versus that of the Wii U is as stark as night and day. In fact it seems that the Switch is doing so well for Nintendo that over in Canada, it has been reported that the console is the country’s best-selling console for the year of 2017 where apparently 209,000 units have been sold.

This actually outsells that of Sony’s PS4 which managed 205,000 in 2017 so far, although we guess we should point out that Sony’s PS4 has sold millions by now, and given that the Switch was launched earlier this year, there is excitement surrounding the console which could have helped boost sales.

However it seems that not only is the Switch doing well, but other Nintendo products are too. The report claims that 73% of console sales over in Canada belonged to Nintendo. Granted Canada is just one market, but like we said it is pretty contrasting to when the Wii U was launched in which there just wasn’t the same level of excitement.

So far the Switch has been performing admirably in other countries, such as Japan where it managed a whopping 300,000 units in its first week, with the latest figures suggesting that as many as 5 million units have since been sold worldwide.

Zelda’s The Champions’ Ballad DLC On Track For 2017 Release

The Legend of Zelda titles have been mostly one-off titles where once you’ve completed the game, you’re pretty much done with it. However with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo has approached it differently by announcing that the game would be getting a bunch of DLCs in the future.

Now the first DLC, Master Trials, has since been launched, which means that if you purchased the Expansion Pass, you can expect a second DLC titled “The Champions’ Ballad”. For those wondering about the status of the second DLC and when they might be able to expect it, you’ll be pleased to learn that Nintendo has confirmed that the DLC is on track for a release by the end of 2017.

This is according to a video posted by Nintendo Australia / New Zealand in which company exec Eiji Aonuma confirmed that the development team is working on the DLC “with great effort”, and that is it expected to be available by the end of this year. No specific dates have been mentioned, but a report from Kotaku quotes Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime as debunking the 10th of November rumor.

According to Fils-Aime, “We will shortly be announcing the date for that content, so I would not lock and load on November 10th.” In any case we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled so check back with us shortly for more updates.

808 Audio XL-V features Alexa Voice Service

808-xlv808 Audio might be a relatively young company, having started off in 2011, but it also happens to be one of the fastest growing and top performing audio brands. This goes to say a whole lot about just how great its products are, and the company has just announced the 808 Audio XL-V, making it the very first venture into the smart home market that will help expand its range from the portability of the CANZ products.

What makes the 808 Audio XL-V so special? For starters, it will integrate Amazon’s Alexa Voice Service in order to have it deliver information, answer any niggling questions that you might have, play back music, read the news, check out sports scores and even know what the weather forecast is like, among others, right there and then on the spot. All that you need to do is to say the song, artist or genre that your ears are itching to hear at that moment, and it will be done by streaming directly over Wi-Fi from Pandora, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, and Amazon Music, among others. Alternatively, you can also opt to stream virtually any audio content sans wires from your smartphone or tablet via the XL-V.

Other features of the 808 Audio XL-V include multi-room audio so that users are able to pair extra speakers in different areas of the home in order for them to stream music in those places simultaneously. Working alongside 808 Audio’s signature high-powered audio that is more than capable of filling up the room with immersive stereo sound while delivering crisp vocals and dynamic bass response, one will get nothing but the very best in-home experience without having to break the bank.

Those who are interested in making the 808 Audio XL-V part of their home device collection can look forward to picking it up in November this year for $129.99 a pop
