Artificial intelligence will become increasingly more important in our lives in the years to come. While some are sounding alarm bells over the advancement in AI technology, others say that it will enable new experiences and technologies that will help us in the long term. AI’s abilities are vast and they’ve been showcased in a variety of different way. In this latest example, we find that Intel’s AI helped create a music video.
The promo clip for Chinese music star Chris Lee’s “Rainy Day, But We Are Together” was released online recently. Intel has now revealed that its artificial intelligence technology was used to create this music video. It’s the first music video to utilize Intel’s AI.
The producers of this video clip were able to create amazing special effects on the artist’s face by teaching a machine learning system to instantly reconstruct a face in 3D and also track its movements in real-time. It even tracked facial expressions.
This meant that the producers didn’t require Lee to wear tracking markers and the camera crew didn’t have to shoot in a specific way to achieve similar results. They simply captured the scenes as they wanted and left the special effects to the Ai.
This is a mere glimpse of how artificial intelligence can be used to create exciting video content in the future and we’re bound to see more of it down the line.

After months of reports that Russia used social networks to sway the public opinion in the previous U.S. presidential election, Facebook finally confirmed recently that at least ten million users in the United States saw Russia-linked political ads that spread divisive views. It’s widely believed that the ads helped widen the rift between the political sides during the elections. Facebook has since taken a number of steps to clamp down on foreign influence of this nature. It has now said that all political advertisers will have to disclose their identities.
“That level of transparency is good for democracy and it’s good for the electoral process,” Facebook says. The social network has also introduced new steps to improve transparency for all kinds of advertising.
Starting November, users will be able to click “View Ads” on a Page and view the ads that Page is running on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. This will be able to view those ads even if they’re not in the intended targeted audience for those ads.
The social network is also going to build an archive of federal-election related ads which will enable it to show both current and historical election-related ads.
For each federal-election related ad, it’s also going to provide details on the amount spent, number of impressions delivered, demographics information, and include it in a searchable archive that will cover a rolling four-year period.
Facebook will now require all ads be associated with a Page as part of the ad creation process. This will first be tested in Canada and will eventually be rolled out in the United States by the summer next year, ahead of the midterm elections in November. The new transparency features will also be rolled out in other countries across the globe around the same time.

Apple has long sold accessories for the iPhone and iPads that it has made on its own. These accessories can be found alongside select third-party accessories at the company’s online and physical retail stores. Apple has never made a laptop sleeve before, though, and that’s changing now. The company has introduced a new leather sleeve for the 12 inch MacBook. As you might have expected, it’s not exactly cheap.
Apple has quietly listed the new leather sleeve for the 12 inch MacBook on its website. Customers can pick one up in Saddle Brown or Midnight Blue colors for $149.
It looks like you’d expect a laptop sleeve to look like, with the exception of the etched Apple logo that broadcasts to the world that you’re indeed carrying a MacBook under your arm.
There are plenty of other laptop sleeves that can be had for less than the $149 that Apple is charging for this one, but if you swear by Apple accessories and happen to own a 12 inch MacBook, head over to the Apple Store right now and pick one up.
Will Apple launch similar sleeves for other MacBook models? It’s likely, though it’s unclear when they might arrive. Its customers who own other MacBook models will certainly not mind if it decided to launch sleeves for them as well.

Sony unveiled the Xperia Touch projector at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year. It announced a couple of weeks ago that the Xperia Touch is available for purchase in the United States. It’s not a cheap product, $1,700 is a lot of money, but it’s not a conventional projector after all. Sony is now rolling out Android 7.1.1 for the Xperia Touch and the new firmware brings a feature that didn’t make the cut when the device was first released.
The Xperia Touch came with Android 7.0 Nougat when it was launched in Europe over the summer. It was also sporting the same firmware when it came out in the U.S. The incremental Android 7.1.1 Nougat update has now been released for the Xperia Touch. It enables gesture controls in wall mode.
Sony highlighted this feature in the early demos of the Xperia Touch but the feature wasn’t available on the commercial version of the product when it was released. The update is also going to enable users to select left or right orientation for portrait apps.
The Sony Xperia Touch is an interactive projector. It’s capable of transforming any flat surface into a 23 inch HD touchscreen via the horizontal or vertical ultrashort-throw laser projection system. The device is capable of projecting up to 80 inches on the wall.
It comes with Google Play support for Android apps and games as well as PlayStation 4 Remote Play. Customers in the United States can now purchase the Sony Xperia Touch for $1,799.
