Slack’s Screen Sharing Now Allows Other Users To Take Control

When it comes to productivity software, collaborative features are more or less a feature that we would assume is part of the application. This includes the ability to allow users to edit documents together and have the changes reflect in real-time, and also screen sharing where you can show others what’s on your screen, like a presentation.

However if you’ve ever gotten frustrated watching a classmate or a co-worker fumble around their desktop to get to their point, not to worry as Slack has introduced updated screen sharing features that will allow other users to take control of that user’s screen. “Screen sharing from a Slack call has gone interactive: You can invite others to write, code, design — or whatever working together means to you — all directly from your shared screen.”

Users will be able to edit, type, and scroll, with each participant in the screen sharing group receiving their own cursor. However if the owner doesn’t want you to take full control, you will still be able to interact with the screen as well. According to Slack, “And when not in control, viewing participants can temporarily draw over the shared screen, directing attention to particular cells in a spreadsheet, lines of a paragraph, or anything else they want to highlight.”

Note that screen sharing control for Slack will require users to be on a paid plan for either the Windows or Mac app, so if you’re not and this feature sounds useful, maybe you could consider paying for it.

Developer Explains Why Wolfenstein II Does Not Have Multiplayer

Most games these days come with some kind of multiplayer component. In a world where we are becoming increasingly connected with each other, it makes sense. However Bethesda’s upcoming Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus does not come with a multiplayer feature, and according to Gamesindustry.biz, it was explained why during Gamescom earlier this year.

Speaking to the publication, the game’s developer Machine Games’ narrative designer Tommy Tordsson Björk explained, “The only way we can create these super immersive narrative experiences is if we can solely focus on the single-player. Having a multiplayer component in this work process would just dilute it all. That’s the danger if you try to do two things at once. We just keep our heads together, and focus on making a really good single-player game… Doing our thing is what makes the game great.”

It should be noted that so far out of the all the rebooted Wolfenstein series, none of them have featured multiplayer anyway, so for Wolfenstein II to pass on the feature doesn’t really come as a surprise. However those who are new to the franchise may be wondering why, and hopefully the explanation covers that. We suppose it would be nice to play with friends, but at the same time there are plenty of similar games that already offer multiplayer, so if you’re more in it for the story then hopefully Wolfenstein II delivers.

Fujifilm Launches New Instax Share SP-3 Photo Printer

These days with our photos being stored digitally on our smartphones, cameras, memory cards, and in the cloud, and with sharing being mostly done virtually, it doesn’t really come as a surprise that there is a lesser need for physical prints of photos, unless they are for special occasions or for commercial purposes, or maybe you just like it the old school way.

If you do enjoy physical printouts of photos, then you’ll be pleased to learn that Fujifilm has recently taken the wraps off the Instax Share SP-3 photo printer. This is sort of the successor to last year’s Instax SP-2, although as you can clearly tell, Fujifilm has decided to give the printer a bit of a modern design. However putting the design aside, at its core the SP-3 is pretty much the same as its predecessors where users can print photos on the fly

However unlike the SP-2, the SP-3 will print photos in a 1:1 aspect ratio, meaning that your photos will come out in a square, kind of like how Instagram used to be back in the day. The printer will work with smartphones and pair via an accompanying app, but unsurprisingly it will also work with Fujifilm’s X-series of cameras.

The photos printed will be 800 x 800 in terms of resolution and measures 2.4-inches by 2.4-inches in actual physical size. The printer will be good for 160 prints on a single charge, but film will be sold separately where they are priced at $14 for a pack of 10 sheets.
