Super Mario Question Block and Chain Chomp Lamps Light Up the Mushroom Kingdom
Posted in: Today's ChiliAre you a Nintendo freak? Then you probably have spent your fair share of time with Mario and his pals. Now, you can bring a little bit of the Mushroom Kingdom to your own kingdom with this duo of fun lamps from ThinkGeek.
First up is this clever Question Block table lamp, which features a 7-7/8″ cube floating above a green base. The neat part is the pull chain, which has Mario at the end, so it looks like he’s flying through the air and ready to knock the snot out of that cube. Will gold coins come out, or maybe a 1up ‘shroom?
If you like to keep your friends close and your enemies closer, then you might want to grab the Chain Chomp task lamp too. This 18-3/4″ tall desk lamp looks just like that evil ball and chain, as it rears up, ready to attack. But that power star you just collected from the question block is no match for this thing, and you can speed right past it without flinching.
Both lamps are available for pre-order now from ThinkGeek. The Question Block lamp is going for $59.99(USD), while the Chain Chomp lamp is $49.99.
The LG G6 is a good smartphone but if you didn’t want to pay top dollar for it, perhaps you’d like to take up Amazon on its offer. The online retail giant has added the LG G6 to its lineup of Prime Exclusive Phones. It’s selling the handset at a discount compared to the market but there’s a caveat. Customers will have to bear lockscreen ads. That’s why Amazon is subsidizing the price in the first place.
The Amazon Prime Exclusive Phones lineup doesn’t have a lot of flagship-level smartphones. Previous additions to the lineup have included mid-range options like the Moto G5. The LG G6 is a flagship smartphone that the company released earlier this year. It didn’t perform as well as LG might have hoped but its specs are right up there with the best of them.
The specifications include a 5.7 inch Quad HD display with a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of onboard storage. The handset also features a microSD card slot for external memory expansion to 2TB.
Amazon is now selling the LG G6 for $399.99. It’s an unlocked model so it’s going to work on all major carriers in the country. Customers have to keep in mind that they will have to put up with lockscreen ads for as long as they use the LG G6.

Samsung is expected to launch its new Galaxy A (2018) series in a couple of months. We’ve already started hearing rumors and reports about the new handsets. The top-of-the-line model in this series has now been spotted on a benchmarking website. The listing on the website reveals some specifications of the Galaxy A7 (2018).
Previous reports have suggested that the entire Galaxy A (2018) lineup is going to feature an Infinity Display. It won’t likely be curved at both edges like Samsung’s flagship handsets, but it’s going to slim down the bezels considerably.
It’s also been claimed that at least two models are going to feature dual cameras. The interesting twist is that these models aren’t said to feature dual camera systems at the back. They’re reportedly going to have dual selfie cameras.
This particular listing suggests that the Galaxy A7 (2018) might feature a 6 inch full HD+ display with 2160×1080 pixel resolution, a 1.6GHz Exynos 7885 octacore processor with 6GB of RAM.
It’s possible that the handset is going to be powered by Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Even if it doesn’t come with Android 8.0 Oreo from the word go, it’s likely going to receive the update to Oreo a few months after it’s released.
Samsung is yet to confirm when the new Galaxy A (2018) series is going to be launched. It’s possible that the company might announce the new devices early next year.

You can already buy and sell almost anything on Facebook but the world’s largest social network now wants to be your go-to destination for buying a car. The company today announced that it has inked new partnerships with auto dealership websites to make it easier for users to buy and sell vehicles on its Marketplace platform.
Facebook launched its Marketplace platform to facilitate buying and selling between users in October last year. It says that millions of people in the United States are already using Marketplace every day to look for cars. Since this was one of its most popular categories, it has decided to expand the used car inventory by partnering with major auto dealership websites.
In the coming weeks, car buyers in the United States will find new features in Facebook Marketplace that make it easier for them to search for used cars. They will be able to browse inventory from auto dealers made possible by partnerships with Car.com, Edmunds, CDK Global, and others.
The vehicles section has been enhanced so users can filter listings by year, model, make, mileage, vehicle type, and transmission. They will even be able to view trusted car values from Kelly Blue Book. Facebook Messenger will enable users to communicate directly with dealership representatives through chat providers like CarCode, Gubagoo, ActivEngage, and more.
The new inventory is going to popular over the next few weeks.

AMD today announced its lineup of Ryzen processors for laptops. The company has previously released Ryzen processors for both high-end and entry-level segments of the desktop PC market. The first two laptop processors from AMD’s Ryzen lineup have been unveiled today. They include the Ryzen 5 2500U and the Ryzen 7 2700U. Both chips have been designed for ultrathin, portable laptops.
The new chips are technically APUs, or “accelerated processing units,” as AMD teased back in May. What that means is that the chips have a CPU and an integrated GPU into one single chip. Both of the laptop processors that AMD has launched today are paired with a Radeon Vega graphics processor.
The 2.0 GHz Ryzen 5 2500U can be boosted to 3.6GHz while the Ryzen 7 2700U has a base speed of 2.2GHz which can be boosted to 3.8GHz. Both laptop processors are 15W with four cores and eight threads.
As far as the graphics chips are concerned, the Ryzen 5 2500U is paired with eight Radeon Vega compute units clocked at up to 1100Mhz while the Ryzen 7 2700U has 10 Radeon Vega compute units that are clocked at up to 1300MHz.
AMD says that the new Ryzen laptop processors promise over 200 percent more CPU performance compared to its previous generation of laptop processors and up to 128 percent improved graphics performance.
The company has confirmed that its new laptop chips will be making their way to machines from HP, Acer, and Lenovo this holiday season.
