Daimler Unveils Electric Truck Before Tesla

There has been a lot of talk about Tesla’s electric truck. The company was due to unveil its first electric semi-truck this month but it decided to delay the launch to focus on other things. Daimler, the German automotive corporation that owns Mercedes, today revealed its very own electric truck. Daimler calls it the E-Fuso Vision One.

According to the company, the E-Fuso Vision One is capable of carrying 11 tons of cargo for up to 220 miles on a single charge. This is only a prototype at this point in time so it’s likely that the figures might change a bit when the production version hits the road.

It’s going to take some time before that happens. Daimler has said that it’s going to have the production version of this electric truck on sale within four years in markets like the United States, Europe, and Japan.

This truck is evidently meant for shorter trips between cities. The level of range that it provides won’t really be useful for quick cross-country cargo transport but this is going to be the platform that eventually enables electric trucks to reach that level as well.

As for Tesla’s electric truck, the company has currently scheduled the unveiling for November 16th. It will be interesting to see how it compares and whether Tesla will be able to beat Daimler to the market.

Apple’s Strict Rules For Its TV Shows Mean No Nudity Or Violence

Apple has been focusing a lot on original video content recently. If a new report is to be believed, don’t keep your fingers crossed for a Game of Thrones type show from Apple. The company reportedly has strict rules for its TV shows, it apparently won’t allow nudity or violence. Apple reportedly wants to focus its original content efforts more on comedies and dramas.

Bloomberg reports that Apple’s upcoming original TV shows are not going to feature strong language, violence or nudity. It’s going to focus on dramas and comedies instead, as well as content like Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories.

Basically, it’s going to focus on content that appeals to a wide audience. The scribe adds that this decision has led to producers and partners to conclude that Apple is “conservative and picky.”

There’s also no clarity on where these shows are going to air once they’re ready. They won’t be distributed through Apple Music like existing shows such as Planet of the Apps and Carpool Karaoke. This is a question that needs to be answered and so far there are no hints as to how the company is planning on distributing its original TV shows.

Apple hasn’t commented on the report so we’ll have to take the scribe’s word for it. The company will hopefully provide more details about its TV plans soon.

Netflix DVD Queue App Released For Android

You might not be aware but Netflix allows subscribers to rent actual DVDs and Blu-rays. It has offered subscribers this service for quite some time now and the company has also developed an app that helps them manage their DVD queue. This part of the company’s business is surprisingly still profitable. Surprising because most of us don’t use DVDs anymore to watch content. More than four million people still use this service. The DVD queue management app that was launched earlier this year for iOS has now been released for iOS.

Netflix’s new Android app can now be used by subscribers to manage their DVD queue. They can use the app to browse thousands of movies and TV shows that they can order in disc format. The app is also going to provide them with recommendations based on what they’re ordered in the past.

The DVD Netflix app enables users to browse the catalog by genre and mood as well. Users can search by actor, channel, and more. They can then pick the movies and TV shows that they want to watch and build their queue. Netflix will send out their discs with free shipping both to and from the subscriber.

Users will receive a notification when a new DVD or Blu-ray is shipped and they will be able to keep it for as long as they like without incurring any late fees. Netflix charges $4.99 per month for its DVD service.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Reveals Some Details About The New Terminator Movie

There’s a new Terminator movie in the pipeline and fans of the original movies will be delighted to find out that the original team is returning. James Cameron is producing the new movie while both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton will be returning. Arnold Schwarzenegger has now revealed some details about the new Terminator movie, saying that it’s going to go back to the basics.

Schwarzenegger said in an interview with Business Insider that the new Terminator movie is going to go back to the basics. This means that most of the events in the Terminator films that came after 1991’s Terminator 2 will be ignored.

He further revealed that his character, the killer robot, and Sarah Conner played by Hamilton will be the only two characters from the earlier movies to appear in the upcoming Terminator movie.

James Cameron, the franchise creator, is attached to this project as the producing. Tim Miller of Deadpool fame is going to be in the director’s chair for this movie.

“I think Cameron and Tim came up with a concept where they can continue on with the T-800 but make a whole new movie,” Schwarzenegger said, adding that what they’re doing right now shows that they’re moving away from the rules of the timeline and other characters. “It’s hard to come up with new ideas when you stay within that framework,” he said.

The new Terminator movie is going to be released on July 26th, 2019.

Preliminary Anti-Aging Human Clinical Trials Have Been Successful

Two preliminary human clinical anti-aging trials have proven to be a success. The stem cell therapy has yieled results that show reversal of systems associated with frailty due to age. The results suggest that this treatment is not only safe but also highly effective in combating the key factors in aging. Scientists have been working on a variety of methods to achieve anti-aging targets. Recent discoveries include a protein that restores hair and improves fitness. This particular trial deals with anti-aging stem cell treatment.

Mesenchymal stem cells or MSCs are being used for treating over a dozen different types of pathological conditions like cancer and heart disease. This new MSC treatment aims to reduce the effects of frailty on senior citizens. According to reports, this is the first treatment of its kind to come close to the coveted FDA approval stage.

The treatment involves extracting human mesenchymal stem cells from adult donor bone marrow and using a single infusion into patients with an average age of 76. Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the preliminary human clinical trials have revealed that there are no adverse effects on the patient’s health.

The first trial involved 15 frail patients who received a single infusion collection from the bone marrow of donors between the ages of 20 and 45 years old. All of the patients demonstrated an improved overall quality of life, fitness outcomes, and tumor necrosis factor levels after six months.

The second trial was a double blind study with a placebo group. No adverse effects were repoted and researchers noted that the physical improvements that those who received an infusion were “remarkable.”

An expanded Phase 2b clinical trial is the next stage which will involve 120 patients in more than 10 locations. A final randomized Phase 3 trial will be conducted after that and the treatment might subsequently receive final public approval.
