GJS reveals first GEIO FPS battle robot

geioThere is a certain degree of fascination when it comes to robots and robotics, as we continue to plunge headlong into the 21st century. What if I were to propose the ideal of normal humans duking it out with one another, except that their consciousness has been connected to that of metal bodies in the form of gigantic robots? GJS has taken a small step in the right direction with the GEIO, which is touted to be the world’s first FPS battle robot which will leverage on visual recognition technology.

With an asking price of just $109, this is a unique battle robot that is more than capable of offering a fully immersive experience. The GEIO battle robot features auto-tracking as well as a range of gameplay modes, which would in turn make it one of the best battle robots that are available at the consumer price range.

The GEIO’s design concept has resulted in an amazing battle bot that is extremely versatile, where it is also very easy to control. In order to get a taste of what such FPS is able to do for robot gaming, players would need to hook up their respective smart devices with GEIO; where they will then be transported into a dynamic environment with an immersive battle to follow. Boasting of FPS and visual recognition, GEIO is capable of delivering mighty battling abilities, in addition to a quartet of classical gameplay modes. One of them would be the all-time favourite “Royal Duel”, “Attack and Escort”, “Scavenger Hunt” and “Speed Race”.

GEIO is fully capable of auto-targeting and tracking the enemy, which makes the player’s task easier since he or she can shoot the target within 1 second. The realm of robot toys have certainly progressed by leaps and bounds over the past few years, as we are now reaping the due rewards.

Foxconn Proposes A Self-Driving Car Lane On Wisconsin’s Highway

As it stands, there are several companies such as Google who are testing out their self-driving cars on the roads, and somewhat successfully too. However until the day comes where the majority of cars are self-driving cars, there is the potential for accidents as sometimes it can be hard to predict human driving behavior.

However Foxconn might have a solution for that: dedicated highway lanes for self-driving cars. In a report from the Journal Sentinel, it seems that Foxconn has recently proposed the idea of using one of the lanes on Wisconsin’s I-94 highway as a dedicated self-driving car lane. However it seems that it is far from being made a reality.

According to a spokesman for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Foxconn’s proposal is just one of many proposals on the table right now, so whether or not they actually go for it is another story, although admittedly it would be rather interesting to see implemented and could go a long way in seeing more self-driving cars put on the road.

As you might have heard, Foxconn has expanded its operations to the US, with the company’s $10 billion mega factory located in Racine County. It is expected to create up to 13,000 jobs which means that there could be a lot more commuting, as well as goods being transported back and forth, so perhaps the creation of a self-driving car lane could help keep things a bit more organized.

Amazon Could Expand To Australia By Black Friday

Thanks to globalization, a lot of online retailers can ship to pretty much most parts of the world. Amazon is one of them, although admittedly the company’s shipping rates can sometimes be a bit pricey, which is why there are many customers who are hoping for Amazon to launch a localized version for their market/country.

So far we’ve seen Amazon expand to Southeast Asia through Singapore, and now it looks like Oceania could be next. According to emails seen by CNET, it looks like Amazon will be expanding to Australia and it could be as soon as this month. The report claims that Amazon has sent emails to various third-party sellers and are asking them to get their products online and ready to be sold by “mid-November”, with plans to hopefully launch by Black Friday.

A couple of CNET’s sources have confirmed that this is indeed the company’s plan, which is to go live by Black Friday, but it seems that these plans could change depending on whether or not they can get everything up and running in time. This seems to have been previously hinted at by Amazon Australia country manager Rocco Braeuniger, where he took to the stage at an Amazon Seller Summit in Sydney and said that the company would be launching “really, really soon”.

This should be good news for Australians (and potentially those in New Zealand as well), but until it has been officially launched, maybe don’t get your hopes up just yet.

Alibaba’s Jack Ma Is Now The Star Of His Own Martial Arts Movie

What do you do when you are a billionaire and also the executive chairman for one of China’s biggest companies? We suppose with so much money and power, anything is possible, and interestingly enough Alibaba’s Jack Ma has decided that he would spend his time and money at creating a martial arts movie in which he would be the star.

Yup, you read that right, after putting on a show for his staff where he put on a Michael Jackson costume and danced to the singer’s “Dangerous”, it seems that Ma’s sights are set on being a movie star. In the short film you can check out above, it sees Ma fight against a bunch of martial artists, all of whom are highly-regarded in their field.

This includes  Donnie Yen, Wu Jing, Tony Jaa, Jacky Heung, Asashoryu Akinori, Zou Shiming, and Natasha Liu, with the fights choreographed by Sammo Hung, Yuen Woo-Ping, and Tony Ching, all of whom are huge names in the martial arts industry as well as the movies industry. According to a report from China Daily, it seems that Ma put in a lot of hard work into this short film, and is said to have spent 12 hours a day for 12 days to complete it, save for one day in which he had to go and meet with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto. Ma is also known to be a long-time Tai Chi practitioner, and it definitely looks like he knows what he’s doing.

Some have called the short film a vanity project for Ma, while others are claiming it is a publicity stunt for Alibaba’s Singles’ Day sales, which recently managed to beat 2016’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined. Regardless of what it is, it is still relatively entertaining if you enjoy kung-fu flicks, so check it out above if you have some time to spare.

Android 8.1 could reduce inactive app sizes to save space

Just because storage space in mobile devices are getting larger doesn’t mean platform makers and app developers can start becoming lazy and careless. In fact, it should even challenge them more to optimize for both space and performance in order to squeeze in as many apps and files in still constrained environments. Fortunately, Google is indeed still on the case … Continue reading
