Nike Midnight Fog Apple Watch 3 launched to match new Air VaporMax

While there are a myriad different designs and variations of Android Wear smartwatches, the message and market for the Apple Watch is a tad simpler. There really is only one model (per generation) and countless straps to go along with it. Apple often partners with other brands to make that happen, like Nike for its sports-oriented styles. So it’s really … Continue reading

Messenger Day nixed as Facebook pushes Stories feature

Facebook has eliminated its Messenger Day feature, a Snapchat clone that isn’t even a year old yet. Why get rid of such a fresh feature? Because the company now has a Stories feature — another Snapchat feature clone — and it wants users to gravitate to it. Messenger Day was essentially the same thing, but contained to the Messenger app … Continue reading

Ember Is Back With A New Temperature Controllable Ceramic Mug

Last year you might recall a company called Ember that launched a smart coffee mug. This is a mug that allows users to control the temperature of the contents in the mug, meaning that you could technically keep your cup of coffee or tea hot all day (as long as the battery lasts). However the only drawback was its price and its size.

The good news is that if you relish the idea of being able to keep your drink warm/hot for extended periods of time without it degrading in temperature, you’ll be pleased to learn that Ember is back with a new device in the form of the Ember Ceramic Mug. As you can see in the photo above, the Ember Ceramic Mug looks like a normal mug, but it will offer the same features as the smart coffee mug from last year, except in a different form factor and a lower price.

The best part is that it looks like a regular mug which means that it can blend right into the surroundings and your other drinkwares. There is also a built-in LED at the bottom that users can change in order to make them identifiable if you have multiple Ember Ceramic Mugs at home or in the office.

The mug will connect via Bluetooth to an accompanying smartphone app where users get to control the temperature, and will also come with a saucer that acts as a charging base. It will be priced at $80 and will be available via Ember’s website or various Starbucks outlets across the US.

Google Assistant For Tablets Could Be Coming Soon

When Google Assistant was first introduced, it was assumed that just like other Android features, it would be available for all Android devices. However it seemed that Google was attempting to do something different with its Pixel phones and made Google Assistant a temporary exclusive.

However we’ve seen Google start to open up Assistant to more devices, such as Sony’s Android TVs, and last we heard it could be arriving on Chromebooks soon. But what about tablet owners? The good news is that Assistant for Android tablets could also be coming soon, thanks to a recent discovery in the Assistant settings where it was discovered that the row of icons that support Assistant now includes a tablet icon as well as mentioning that it is “Available on Google Home, Android 6.0+ phones and tablets, Chromebooks, and TVs”.

Like we said, Google has been slowly opening up Assistant to more devices, where the feature was initially only available for phones. Presumably Google wants the same widespread adoption and ubiquity that Amazon is enjoying with Alexa which has found its way onto phones, smart speakers, and a bunch of other gadgets.

Unfortunately there is no telling when Assistant for Android tablets will be released, but presumably the addition of the tablet icon does suggest that it could be coming soon.

Alleged Samsung Galaxy S9+ Benchmarks Reveal 4GB Of RAM

Come 2018 we expect that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, that is assuming they’ll be sticking to the same release pattern we’ve been seeing for the past couple of years. Right now details about the phones exist pretty much as rumors, save for a recent Samsung announcement that more or less confirmed the chipset the phones could use.

According to the announcement, the Galaxy S9 is most likely to use the Samsung Exynos 9810 chipset which will be the latest from the company. However it seems that we might now know the amount of RAM accompanying the phone, thanks to a recent Geekbench sighting which has revealed that the Galaxy S9+ (the larger model) will come with 4GB of RAM.

In a way this isn’t too surprising or shocking, especially when you consider the fact that its predecessor also came with 4GB of RAM (there is a 6GB model but it seems to be limited to South Korea and China). However given this day and age, we would have expected Samsung to maybe bump that amount up to 6GB or maybe even 8GB, so while 4GB isn’t surprising, it is a little disappointing.

That being said there’s no way to confirm if these benchmarks are really that of the Galaxy S9+ since they can be faked, so take it with a grain of salt for now, but we expect that in a few more months we should have all the official details.

T-Mobile REVVL Plus Smartphone Announced For $200

With so many smartphone brands available to choose from, one has to wonder if maybe T-Mobile launching their own brand of smartphones is a good move. Several months ago the company announced the REVVL smartphone which was priced at a budget-friendly $125, but if that wasn’t enough, the company is back with a larger model.

T-Mobile has recently taken the wraps off its latest REVVL smartphone in the form of the REVVL Plus. As the name suggests, this is a larger version of the original REVVL and will sport a 6-inch Full HD display. In terms of specs, T-Mobile has revealed that the REVVL Plus will feature an octa-core chipset clocked at 2.0GHz and will be accompanied by 2GB of RAM. There will also be 32GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded to 128GB, a 3,380mAh battery, a 13MP and 5MP rear-facing camera, and an 8MP front-facing camera.

There will also be a built-in fingerprint sensor for security purposes, and it will come with Android Nougat preinstalled. As for pricing, it seems that T-Mobile is aiming the REVVL Plus at a budget-conscious crowd with a full retail price of $200, or alternatively it will cost $0 upfront and $9 a month over 18 months on T-Mobile’s JUMP! on Demand plan, or $0 upfront and $8 a month over 24-months on T-Mobile’s Equipment Installment Plan.

Sprint Could Offer Free Hulu Access To Its Unlimited Customers

A couple of months ago, T-Mobile announced that they would be giving their subscribers a free subscription to Netflix, which we can imagine will no doubt tempt customers to join the carrier’s network. However it seems that Sprint could have a counter-offer in mind in the form of free Hulu access to its unlimited customers.

Note that Sprint has not officially announced anything, but rather this is speculation from analysts over at Wave7, who claim that Sprint’s Hulu offer could be the carrier’s answer to T-Mobile’s Netflix promotion. The report claims that Sprint has informed their dealers that this offer will be “coming soon”, although when exactly remains to be seen.

“Sprint is planning to include TV shows from Hulu with its unlimited plans. Dealers have been told that this is ‘coming soon.’ There will be one subscription per account and it will be described as a $7.99 value.” In addition to T-Mobile offering a Netflix subscription, AT&T had also announced that they would be giving their customers free HBO access.

This means that if and when Sprint does launch this Hulu offer, it will leave Verizon as the only major carrier in the US not to offer free video with its plans, although we expect that they will probably answer in kind soon enough.
