Bungie has confirmed that it’s changing the way Destiny 2 dishes out experience points. There was outrage in the community recently after many had come to the conclusion that the Destiny 2 XP system was rigged. Many players had been raising questions about it over the past days and Bungie has finally confirmed that it’s going to address their concerns by changing the XP system.
Experience points or XP are what players need to level up after they start a new character in Destiny 2. Their level improves as they get more XP and that unlocks new abilities.
Once the soft level cap of 20 was hit, players still got XP but it didn’t level them up. The points filled the experience bar and gave them a Bright Engram, that’s what loot boxes are called in Destiny 2.
These loot boxes have different items like ships, ornaments, emotes, and more. Players can also purchase Bright Engrams by spending real money in the Eververse microtransaction store.
Many players noticed during Destiny 2’s first Clarion Call event that the longer they played, the slower they were progressing. Even if they earned 5,000 XP for the same activities over and over again, the bar would fill up slower each consecutive time.
Reddit user EnergiserX posted a detailed analysis which revealed that Destiny 2 was throttling XP progress invisibly even while it told players that they were earning XP as usual.
Bungie essentially agreed in its blogpost that the findings are correct. “Currently, XP will scale up when playing longer or fixed duration activities like Crucible competitive multiplayer matches and the Leviathan Raid, and XP will scale down when playing activities that can be quickly, repeatedly chained, like grinding Public Events. We are not happy with the results, and we’ve heard the same from the community,” it explained.
Bungie has said that it has immediately deactivated this system and will communicate any additional updates to the system in the future.

Google launched the Google Home Mini last month. It packages the Google Assistant-powered speaker experience into a small device. The company has designed it to fit naturally in any room. The Google Home Mini is about the size of a donut and it has a smooth and sleek design that doesn’t have any corners or edges. It was already cheap at launch but Google has now extended the promotional pricing for the device through the end of this year.
The Google Home Mini was priced at $49 when it was launched. The device has a fabric enclosure that lets through both light and sound. It’s capable of projecting 360-degree sound and can even hear users when there’s ambient noise through its far-field microphones.
Google decided to offer the device for $29 on Black Friday. It even offered a $10 gift card with the product which effectively brought down the price tag to $19.
While the gift card is no longer being offered with each purchase, the company has confirmed that it’s extending Google Home’s $29 price through the end of 2017. The discount will be valid until December 31st, 2017.
Those who are interested in picking one up can head over to the Google Store right now and purchase the Google Home Mini for $29.
