Twitter Now Enforcing New Anti-Abuse Policies

Twitter announced a new set of anti-abuse rules last month and said that the changes will be enforced starting December 18th. The company has now started enforcing its new anti-abuse policies which cover conduct both on and off the platform. The new policies also cover hateful conduct, violence, and physical harm.

Twitter’s abuse problem is no secret. The company has been working hard over the past couple of years to get a handle on things but it has taken a lot of flak for the arbitrary way in which the old policies were enforced.

The company later promised that it would do better and develop new policies that prevent the spread of hateful conduct and abuse on its platform.

The microblogging service will now require users to remove tweets that glorify violence or the perpetrators of a violent act. Repeat offenders will see their accounts being permanently banned if they don’t pay attention to Twitter’s warnings.

The new policies also apply to accounts that affiliate themselves with organizations that use or promote violence against civilians for the advancement of their ideologies.

Accounts with profile information that includes racist or sexist tropes as well as violent threats will be suspended permanently. Hateful imagery like symbols and logos that promote hostility on the bases of sex, religion, race, disability, etc will now be classified as “sensitive media.” If these images appear in an account’s header or profile images, the account owner will be asked to remove them.

All of the changes that Twitter has made to its policies are described in detail on Twitter’s website.

Toyota To Electrify All Cars By 2025

It goes without saying that electric and hybrid cars will be major players in the coming years and as one of the world’s largest car manufacturers, Toyota doesn’t want to be left behind. The Japanese behemoth has confirmed that it’s going to electrify its entire car lineup by 2025. This means that all of the cars it sells by then will have either an all-electric or a hybrid option.

Toyota sent out a press release today pledging that its entire fleet will be available in electric or hybrid options by 2025. It’s also hoping that its electrified models will account for more than half of its sales by 2030. It has a volume target of nearly 5.5 million electric cars annually.

The company has promised that by 2025, it’s going to develop any Toyota or Lexus-branded vehicle that doesn’t have a “dedicated electrified model or have an electrified option.” Toyota says that it has produced over 11 million cars so far that use electric technology in one way or the other.

Toyota is also planning to offer more than 10 different all-electric cars for sale starting from 2020. China will be the first target market for these cars before they’re launched in other markets across the globe. The electric range will then be expanded to Japan, the United States, Europe, and India gradually.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Android Oreo Beta Enters Second Phase

Samsung launched the Galaxy Beta Program for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ several weeks ago. It has released four Android 8.0 Oreo beta firmware since then for both handsets in the United States and the United Kingdom. The program was supposed to go live in additional markets in the second phase and it appears that the Galaxy Beta Program has now entered its second phase.

Samsung started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo beta for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in India earlier today. A few hours later, the beta program also went live for users in Germany, Poland, and France.

All of these markets were believed to receive the beta in the second phase of the program. While there hasn’t been an official announcement from Samsung just yet, it’s clear that the Galaxy Beta Program is now being expanded to more markets.

It may only be a matter of time before the beta program makes its way to markets like China and Spain which are also believed to be on the list for the second phase.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners in the aforementioned markets can now try signing up for the beta through the Samsung Members app. The spots are limited so if they don’t hurry, they may have to wait until additional spots are made available.
