It’s refreshing to wear a mechanical watch. The soft sweep of the seconds hand reminds us of the fleeting nature of time while the endless ticking in a dark room is a comfort and a spur to action. Add in a little limited edition provenance with big face and crown and you’ve got a stew going. This particular stew is called the Alpina Startimer. It is a pilot’s watch, a watch… Read More

It’s not uncommon for Spotify to make minor tweaks to the user interface of its Android app from time to time. However, according to a new report, it appears that the company is now testing a significant UI change for its Android app. It appears that Spotify is testing a new user interface which features a three-tab navigation system that makes things much simpler.
To be clear, Spotify is only testing these changes at this point in time so they’re not rolling out for everyone just yet. It’s also unclear if that’s going to happen since a test doesn’t necessarily mean that the changes will certainly be rolled out for all users.
The changes that have been spotted so far include the three-tab navigation, larger interface elements, and list views that are simpler.
The Search tab has been revamped to take advantage of the available space. It uses that space wisely to provide additional features.
The consolidation of the navigation tabs is by far the biggest change. They’ve been reduced to three from the existing five. Some users might not like that Spotify is toying with the idea of removing the Radio and Browse tabs. Nevertheless, the new interface does look simpler and easier to use.
Despite the test, it’s unclear at this point in time if and when Spotify is going to roll out these changes to all users.

Atari fans who were looking forward to pre-order the company’s new console today will be disappointed to find out that the Ataribox pre-orders have been delayed. The company was supposed to start taking pre-orders for its new machine from today but it appears that development problems have forced Atari to delay the pre-orders. The company has confirmed this in an email that it sent out today.
The Ataribox console was confirmed earlier this year. It has a wooden box much like the classic 2600 console. The console will offer players a new experience while staying true to Atari’s heritage.
Atari previously sent out emails to interested customers informing them that they will be able to place pre-orders for the Ataribox starting December 14th. The console itself is supposed to be released at some point next year. The company will charge around $300 for it.
Atari has now sent out a new email today announcing that the pre-orders have been delayed because it needs more time “to create the platform and ecosystem the Atari community deserves.” It wants to ensure that the Ataribox lives up to fans’ expectations.
Therefore, it’s delaying pre-orders so that it can take the extra time to sort out the problems that this product is facing. Atari hasn’t confirmed a new launch plan yet. It says that one will be announced in the coming weeks.

Microsoft has gradually been making Windows 10 more developer friendly. It has added the SUSE Linux, Ubuntu, and Fedora Linux distributions alongside the bash command line. The company is now making another addition that developers will certainly like. Microsoft is adding a native OpenSSH client to Windows 10. The native client is already available as a beta option in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and it can be enabled easily.
For those who are unaware, OpenSSH is a connectivity tool for remote login with the SSH protocol. All traffic is encrypted to reduce the change of eavesdropping and connection hijacking. The Secure Shell or SSH is a cryptographic network protocol for running network services securely over unsecured networks. Remote login to computer systems is the best known use case for SSH.
A native OpenSSH client in Windows 10 means that developers will no longer have to download third-party clients like PuTTY to access remote servers.
ServeTheHome has created a video showing how the client can be enabled in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. It’s in beta at this point in time but it works well enough.
Microsoft hasn’t confirmed as yet when its native OpenSSH client for Windows 10 is going to be out of beta. It may not be long before that happens.

Bitcoin is now accepted a whole lot more than it was just a few years ago. There has been a lot of hype surrounding the virtual currency lately, particularly since the price of Bitcoin has been shooting up like crazy over the past few weeks. There’s no other way to describe it. While some say that this is a bubble, others continue to throw their weight behind Bitcoin. Take the owner of this Miami condo for example, the person will only accept Bitcoin in exchange for parting with the condo.
This penthouse condo in Miami has been listed on the real estate website for Redfin. Don’t be fooled by the $33 price because that’s just too good to be true for a property like this.
The seller actually wants 33 Bitcoins for the condo. At the existing price of Bitcoin, that’s about $563,000. The price of Bitcoin is very volatile so if there’s a temporary pullback, someone who has that much money locked up in Bitcoin can score a good deal.
The property has been described as a “spectacular 1 bed/1.5 baths Penthouse unit with high ceilings, unobstructed Biscayne Bay view & Miami skyline.” The listing mentions that the seller is “only accepting Bitcoin.”
This can turn out to be a disaster for the condo’s owner if there’s a big move in the price and it goes down significantly. On the other hand, they might make bank if someone does take the condo off their hands for 33 Bitcoin and the price continues to surge rapidly in the days to come.
