ISS Astronauts Will Watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi In Space

Space is probably the most appropriate place to watch the latest Star Wars movie and that’s precisely what astronauts aboard the International Space Station will be doing. NASA has confirmed that they will be watching the much awaited movie that’s opening in cinemas across the globe later this week.

It’s not unusual for the crew to watch movies up there. The ISS has a decent library of more than 500 movies which includes both classics and recent titles. Astronauts are free to watch movies on their days off.

The ISS astronauts will watch the movie several hundred miles above the Earth’s surface y using one of the laptops onboard or the projector. A spokesperson for NASA has confirmed that the crew will watch the movie on orbit.

NASA Public Affairs Officer Dan Huot confirmed to Inverse that while the astronauts will watch the movie, it’s not clear when they will be watching it. “They typically get movies as digital files and can play them back on a laptop or a standard projector that is currently aboard,” he added.

The hotly anticipated Star Wars movie opens in cinemas across the globe this weekend. The initial reviews have been good and will certainly be flocking to cinemas to see the latest addition to the Star Wars franchise.

How To Save Instagram Stories

Unquestionably, Instagram Stories is now a very popular feature just like Snapchat stories (where it all started). Moreover, with the ability to upload older photos and videos, it has become a bigger trend. So, if you were wondering about the working solutions on how to save Instagram stories on your phone, you’ve reached the right place on the Internet. No matter whether you own an iPhone or an Android device, we have compiled a couple of solutions to help you save Instagram stories to your smartphone.

Fret not, you do not need to jailbreak your iPhone or root your Android device in order to be able to save Instagram stories on your phone.

Note: If a user has a private account, you will not be able to even view their stories unless they accept your request to follow them.

How To Save Instagram Stories to your Android Phone?

To get started saving Instagram stories, you need to download the StorySaver app from the Google Play Store. Once you have it installed, simply log in to your Instagram account and select the story you want to save (as shown in the image above). It will start downloading the Instagram story as a .JPG file or as a video file when you tap on the save option.

How To Save Instagram Stories to your iPhone?

Unfortunately, the App Store no more lists any working application to let you save an Instagram story. But, there are two workarounds you can make use of – if it is really that important to save a particular Instagram story to your phone.

Utilize a Website to Save Instagram Stories (Android & iOS)

instagram stories download

You can try visiting StoriesIG.com to download Instagram stories to your phone or your PC. Although, there’s a catch here – you can only be able to download the stories from the public user accounts. Here, you simply visit the site and then type in the username to search. If the username’s correct, it will fetch the profile and the number of stories associated with the account. If that’s the one you were searching for, click on the profile and it will automatically open the story (image/video).

Under the image/video listed, you will observe a “DOWNLOAD” button. Click on it to start downloading the Instagram story to your smartphone or PC.

You should have no problems while downloading a video story to an Android or a PC. However, when downloading a video on an iPhone, you just can’t download the video or save it to the Files directly. You need to copy the URL when you long press the DOWNLOAD text and then download the file using the URL while utilizing an app like Browser and Document Plus for the job (As shown in the image below).

Utilize the Screen Recording Functionality in iOS 11

If you are rocking iOS 11 on your iPhone, you could simply start recording your screen and launch the Instagram app to take a look at the story you want to keep a proof of (or just a memory). Of course, it is not the perfect solution. But, you do not have an option if you want to save an Instagram story of a private account you already follow.

How To Save Instagram Story On Your PC?

Note: There could be privacy concerns with the extension installed.

chrome IG extension

To do the same on your PC, make sure that you have logged in to your account on Instagram.com.

If you are already logged in, you need to just download Chrome IG extension and activate it. Once you observe the extension active at the right side of the address bar (where all the extension icons reside) – you need to simply click on it which will then list all the recent stories. Click on the download icon to start downloading the story in the form of ZIP file.

Wrapping Up

We will recommend sticking to the solutions mentioned in this article because there are a lot of crapware at the Play Store and App Store which may claim to do the work but wouldn’t. If we did miss any of your favorite methods (that you were already using) to save Instagram stories on your phone, let us know in the comments below.

T-Mobile TV Service Launching Next Year

T-Mobile had some interesting news to share today. The country’s third largest mobile carrier has confirmed that it’s getting into the TV game. T-Mobile has confirmed that it’s going to launch its own TV service in 2018. For that purpose, it has decided to acquire Layer3 TV to help with the technical side of things.

“We’re gonna fix the pain points and bring real choice to consumers across the country,” said T-Mobile CEO John Legere. T-Mobile is aiming to address pain points like “crappy customer service, clunky technology and outrageous bills with fees.”

T-Mobile is going to build its service for people who live TV but don’t care for multi-year service contracts, confusing bills, closed systems, and bad customer service.

It’s going to acquire Layer3 TV for this purpose. The service delivers TV channels by encoding them with IP and then broadcasting them via fiber optic cable. It seems like T-Mobile’s TV service will be somewhere in between a conventional cable service and a standalone online streaming service.

T-Mobile hasn’t revealed a lot of details about its service at this point in time. It’s also unclear how much it’s going to cost and what channels it will offer.

We can expect this information to surface in the coming months.
