Budget-Friendly Fujifilm X-A5 Mirrorless Camera Announced

Fujifilm makes some excellent mirrorless cameras, as we’re sure that many X-T1/T2/Pro/Pro-2 users can verify, although admittedly they can be pretty expensive. Now if you’d like a Fujifilm mirrorless camera but don’t want to break the bank, you’ll be pleased to learn that Fujifilm has announced its latest mirrorless in the form of the Fujifilm X-A5.

This is a camera that comes with a price tag of $600 which also includes a XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, which makes it a perfect starting camera for those looking to get into photography. Of course additional lenses will cost more money, but it’s a good way to start, plus Fujifilm’s XC lenses in general tend to be more affordable due to their construction (made from metal, usually built in Japan).

In terms of specs, the X-A5 will feature a 24.2MP Bayer sensor with on-chip phase detection autofocus, making it twice as fast as focusing compared to its predecessor. Native ISO has also been improved, bumping it from 6,400 to 12,800 and can go up to 51,200, although chances are towards at end it might end up being too noisy to be of any use.

There is a built-in LCD display with touch capabilities, and it can also be flipped all the way up for selfies. The X-A5 will also feature 4K video recording, although it will be limited to 15 fps which while usable, it’s not exactly ideal. The camera also comes with a pop-up flash that looks like it can be adjusted if you want it to bounce of surfaces like ceilings.

BioWare’s ‘Athem’ Release Has Been Pushed To 2019

Last year at E3 2017, EA and BioWare unveiled a new sci-fi IP called “Anthem” which was initially slated for a 2018 release. However for those who were pretty excited about the upcoming game and are looking forward to playing it this year, you’ll be disappointed to learn that the game’s release has been pushed back to 2019.

This is according to a report from The Wall Street Journal (via Polygon) in which EA confirmed the new timeframe. However despite it sounding like and looking very much like a delay, EA is insisting that it is not. This is according to EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen who said, “It’s not a delay. People are trying to create a story.”

This comment was made in response to an article on Kotaku last week, in which the publication’s sources told them that the game would be delayed due to development falling behind. However whatever the case is, it doesn’t really change the fact that gamers can only expect to play it in 2019, although when exactly in 2019 is anyone’s guess.

That being said, delays in the video game industry are pretty normal. In fact developers such as Blizzard have been known to take their time with new titles, going back to the drawing board again if they have to (as was the case with Project Titan which was scrapped and became Overwatch).

Google To Use AI To Predict Flight Delays

There are many reasons why a flight might be delayed. It could be due to bad weather that makes it harder for a plane to land, it could be due to technical difficulties, it could be due to air traffic that prevents a plane from taking off when it should. Basically there are many reasons why, and sometimes it’s really your luck as to whether or not your flight leaves on time.

However Google wants to take luck out of the equation and according to Google, they will be using AI to help predict potential flight delays. This feature will be part of the Google Flights app which will see historic flight status data fed into a machine learning algorithm to predict delays. Of course whether or not the delay actually happens and the prediction comes true won’t always be 100% accurate, but Google seems to believe that it will be about 80% accurate.

Of course most airline companies will prefer leaving on time since delays rarely look good for anyone, but either way we suppose it’s not necessarily a bad thing for passengers to be aware of any potential delays so that they can prepare themselves accordingly. This feature will be available via the Flights app so if you don’t use it already, perhaps now might be a good time to consider using the app to better plan your travels.
