The Instagram of today certainly isn’t identical to the Instagram that launched years ago, having introduced things like Stories and ephemeral messaging abilities over time. Just how drastically is Facebook willing to change the platform? That question was posed this week by a leak hinting at the upcoming launch of a video calling feature on Instagram. Instagram launched as a … Continue reading

Razer continues its march in delivering top notch gaming hardware such as the Razer Core V2, while breaking new ground in other markets such as the smartphone arena. In a unique combination this time around, Razer has unveiled their latest masterpiece in the form of the Project Linda hybrid laptop. Why is it known as a hybrid laptop? The answer is pretty straightforward and simple: Project Linda arrives in the form of a 13.3-inch laptop design that is powered by the Android-based Razer Phone. This particular smartphone and laptop hybrid concept will hopefully be able to usher in a new era for mobile personal computing, where it brings together the familiar Android environment alongside the ease-of-use of a laptop.
This groundbreaking concept will blur the lines between the smartphone and the laptop, where it will have a space where the regular touchpad is on most laptops, in order to allow you to dock the Razer Phone within its chassis. It will then connect with the press of a button. The Razer Phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and accompanied by 8GB of RAM, ensuring that you get to enjoy a responsive performance at all times. Upon docking, it will transform Project Linda into an Android laptop, where the Razer Phone’s 5.7-inch display will double up as a touchpad, or can even be used as a secondary display which can then access apps, tools, and others.
The presence of a full-size, built-in keyboard will ensure that Project Linda’s capabilities are enhanced, delivering enhanced productivity and differentiated gaming experiences. Not only that, users are able to benefit from a responsive and comfortable typing experience which has been specially customized for the Android environment alongside dedicated keys for navigation, search and app selection. It is milled from a unibody CNC aluminum chassis, measuring a mere 0.59-inch thin while remaining under 3 pounds in weight. The 13.3-inch Quad HD touchscreen will extend the 120 Hz experience available on the Razer Phone to a larger display, and has a 53.6 Wh internal battery which is supposedly able to charge the docked phone quickly to full capacity for more than three times.
Pretty cool stuff, don’t you think so?

Asus had said in September last year that we could expect its ZenFone 5 series to be launched in the first quarter of the new year. It was reported that the series might make its first public appearance at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona and that’s precisely where it’s going to be revealed. Asus has essentially confirmed that it’s going to unveil the Zenfone 5 series at MWC 2018 in Barcelona next month.
The company has scheduled a press event on February 27 and the poster for the event clearly hints that it’s going to be the Zenfone 5 series that gets unveiled at this event.
Reports suggest that we might get to see at least three new devices from the company at MWC 2018 which include the Zenfone 5, Zenfone 5 Lite, and the Zenfone 5 Max. The Max is believed to come with a significantly large battery. The event’s poster suggests that the new series will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets.
The Zenfone 5 moniker isn’t new for Asus smartphones, it has released Zenfone 5 handsets most recently in 2015, which is why the poster says “Back to 5.” No further details are available right now regarding the features and specifications of these handsets. Those who can’t make it to Barcelona will be able to watch the press event live on the company’s website.

There was a time when Instagram was only used for sharing pictures that had been brushed up with filters. Ever since Facebook bought the company it has added new functionality to the app. It brought video to Instagram and added the Stories feature. It even added the ability to direct message users and now it may be expanding the app’s functionality further. There’s a possibility that the Instagram video calling feature might arrive at some point in the future.
WABetaInfo reports that the Instagram team is internally working to add a feature to the app which will enable users to video call each other. Users will see a new icon in the navigation bar in a chat, it would be positioned right where one would find it in WhatsApp, which is another Facebook-owned app.
The site adds that this feature will be immediately available to users who open an active chat with another user. This means that users will only be able to video call those who have accepted their request to chat, the icon won’t appear if the other person hasn’t accepted the request.
This feature is said to be currently in development so it might be a while before we see it arrive. While Instagram hasn’t confirmed or denied this, it would make sense for the company to add this functionality, given that it’s already working on a standalone app for Direct messages.
