It seems that Huawei is facing another roadblock in its attempt to break into the US market. Earlier in the month, we heard that AT&T was walking away from a deal that would see it offer Huawei phones like the Mate 10 Pro in stores, supposedly under pressure from the US government. Today, we’re hearing that Verizon has opted to … Continue reading

There have been reports over the past year that Amazon might be thinking about breaking into the healthcare industry. It perhaps one of the more complex and challenging industries that the company has tried to disrupt, but it will go ahead and do it anyway. Amazon is setting into the healthcare industry in partnership with investing hero Warren Buffet and JPMorgan Chase.
There aren’t a lot of details available about this project right now as it’s still said to be in the planning stage according to The Washington Post, but the idea behind it seems to be reducing costs while improving patient care using technology.
“The ballooning costs of (health care) act as a hungry tapeworm on the American economy,” Berkshire Hathaway founder Warren Buffet added.
The new healthcare company will be independent of the founding companies and will also be “free from profit-making incentives and constraints.” Executives from Amazon, Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway, and JPMorgan Chase will lead the firm. The company will primarily be focused on employer-granted health benefits.
“Our goal is to create solutions that benefit our US employees, their families and, potentially, all Americans,” said JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.
The new company will initially focus on using technology solutions that help provide the firms’ U.S. employees and their families with simplified, transparent, and high-quality healthcare at a reasonable cost.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos knows that this is easier said than done. “The healthcare system is complex, and we enter into this challenge open-eyed about the degree of difficulty,” he says, adding that “Success is going to require talented experts, a beginner’s mind, and a long-term orientation.”

Apple is due to unveil iOS 12 at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference. The company almost always introduces new major features with every new iteration of its mobile platform but that might not be the case this year. Word on the street is that Apple is going to delay some iOS 12 features to 2019 as it’s prioritizing performance and reliability improvements.
Axios reports that Apple SVP Craig Federighi has told the company’s software division to delay some major iOS projects and to focus on improving the performance and reliability matters for iOS 12.
Some iOS 12 features like a complete refresh of the Home screen have reportedly been delayed to next year. This will enable the company to dedicate more resources to fixing bugs and making overall improvements to its mobile platform.
Additional iOS 12 features that may have been delayed to next year include a refreshed CarPlay experience, photo editing and sharing enhancements as well as an overhaul of the native Mail application.
iOS 12 will bring some significant improvements, according to the report, but in areas like augmented reality and parental controls. It would make sense for Apple to take this step as the company has recently come under fire for bugs and issues with its mobile platform.
Whether or not this move will pay off is another matter entirely because some team members are reportedly not convinced that any major noticeable improvements to overall stability will be achieved by this.
Apple has not confirmed or denied this report.

Damn. Robots really are taking over the world. Their next target? Strip clubs. Two enterprising robot dancers are leading the way to this future. They go by the names #R2DoubleD and #TripleCPU. They made their strip club debut at the Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club in Las Vegas earlier this month during CES 2018.
I bet they did their routine and then everyone noticed that all of the CES gadgets on show had gathered around mesmerized. A rep for the club says that the robots are “set up on stage and electronically gyrate/dance around the pole, during which human entertainers will also be performing normally around them.”
No, that doesn’t seem weird at all. And are there any robots in the crowd watching tossing microchips at the stage?.. cuz I just wanna watch my own kind. Is that racist? Or is it roboticist? I have no idea. All I can tell you is that these robots are not sexy at all. They must be trying to attract robot clientele. How else can you explain this madness?
