Typically when it comes to CES, it’s common to see various companies show off the tech that they’ve been working on, especially when it comes to displays where we see companies put out bigger, brighter, and higher-resolution displays. It looks like 2018 is no different as LG has officially announced what they are claiming is the world’s first 88-inch 8K display.
While 4K is probably going to be the standard we can expect moving forwards for the next few years, we wouldn’t be surprised if 8K will become the next standard we can expect. According to LG, their latest display offers a 7680×4320 resolution, making it 16 times higher compared to Full HD, and four times more than UHD.
LG is also boasting that due to the use of OLED, creating an 88-inch 8K display means that they are able to keep the display slim because the OLEDs are self-emissive and do not require backlighting, like LCDs. It also means that less components are needed which helps to keep costs down, while also using less energy.
According to In-Byung Kang, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at LG Display, “The successful development of the world’s first 8K OLED display is a milestone for the 8K era and underscores the exciting potential of OLED. OLED is clearly a next-generation technology leader and for this reason, LG Display is accelerating its research and development into OLED so that we can provide differentiated products to customers and markets.”
LG will be showing off the tech at CES 2018, but in terms of pricing and availability it is unknown, although usually these types of tech are more of a proof-of-concept rather than a consumer-ready product.

It goes without saying that many of us now love living in the smart era, where our cars are smart, we cannot do without a smartphone, and of course, the humble home would have received an infusion of technology to make it function a whole lot better and safer compared to before. Tenda Technology from China has taken a look at the likes of Amazon Alexa as well as a slew of other different kinds of smart home devices, and decided to jump aboard the bandwagon through the introduction of the Nova MW6 Whole-Home Wi-Fi system.
All of the three units will work in tandem in order to ensure that the length and breadth of your devices will remain connected within a single network. The Nova is able to deliver lag-free coverage of up to 6,000 sq. ft., which is approximately 15% more than its competitors. Not only that, quality testing has also shown that the Nova’s typical upload and download speeds happen to be up to 30% faster compared to what is currently available in the mesh router market.
This is definitely one of the smarter gift ideas this holiday season, where the Nova is able to excel where conventional routers fall short through the delivery of far better communication efficiency. With the Nova, it does not matter if you have many people living under the same roof as you, multiple users are able to stream, game, and download simultaneously! Since the Nova was specially designed with the end user experience in mind, the benefits that accompany mesh Wi-Fi is made available to many, and setting it up takes just a few steps that even the tech-averse person is able to get it up and running without having to go through a steep learning curve.
The Tenda Nova Mesh Wi-Fi system will retail for $199.99 apiece.

We do know how a camcorder has more or less gotten out of vogue for one very simple reason: our smartphones are able to do a far better job when it comes to recording video at impromptu moments, and it is a whole lot more convenient to lug around compared to a full fledged camcorder. Of course, camcorder sizes have shrunk over the years, but this does not mean that it is still easy to tote up and about. Samsung decided to take things one step further through the idea of the FITT360, which is a 360-degree wearable camcorder that will arrive in the market through Kickstarter.
If you are one who would loves to record just about everything that you see each day, then you would not go too wrong with the FITT360. After all, this wearable camcorder can be comfortably worn around the neck all day long, sporting an extremely light and portable design. Not only that, it has been ergonomically designed to fit virtually everybody while ensuring that it remains unobtrusive with its sleek neckband form. We love the fact that the FITT360 happens to be tough in its development, being rain-, snow-, heat-, and shockproof so as to endure whatever the user puts it through.
Featuring patented image stabilization, live stitching and streaming functionality, the FITT360 is able to open up various possibilities when it comes to tele-presence and life streaming scenarios. Having life logging in mind, the built-in GPS will allow users to keep their personal 360 video-logs within the companion mobile application. With said companion mobile application. FITT360 users can then preview and share videos via SNS in real-time, letting anyone know what you are doing right there and then.
With a trio of Full HD 1080p cameras that deliver 4K resolution images while capturing 360-degree surroundings in true First-Person-View, the FITT360 is certainly worth checking out as it is so easy to use. A full battery charge offers up to 90 minutes of video recording capability. What are you waiting for?
