Nintendo Switch eShop Sale Discounts Games Up To 30%

Heads up Nintendo Switch gamers, if you have been thinking about buying some new games but have been holding off due to price, you will be pleased to learn that Nintendo has announced that the Switch eShop will be holding a sale in which select games will receive discounts up to 30%.

However just like all sales, not all titles will be eligible, and not all games will be given the 30% discount. Nintendo has put together a list of games that are on discount so that could be worth checking out to see if your favorite title might have made the cut. Granted it’s not as extensive as Steam’s sales, but if you’re looking for a way to grow your Switch game collection and not break the bank, now’s a good time to do so.

Some notable titles that have been discounted includes Bethesda’s DOOM that has its price slashed from $60 to $42, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, a variety of NBA 2K titles, and so on. According to a recent poll that was conducted at the Game Developers Conference, there are four times as many Switch titles that are being made this year compared to the previous year.

All of this points towards the console doing pretty well for itself, which is a stark contrast from its predecessor the Wii U.

iOS 11.3 Will See The Inclusion Of Advanced Mobile Location Feature

Last year Apple was urged to include a feature in iOS called Advanced Mobile Location (AML). For those unfamiliar, this is a feature that creates a more accurate pinpoint location of the user. Given that sometimes GPS can be a bit hit or miss and not 100% accurate, this feature will come in handy in situations of emergency.

The good news is that Apple has announced that in the upcoming iOS 11.3 update, they will be adding the feature to the iOS platform. Speaking to TNW, the European Emergency Number Association (EENA) director Gary Machado said that this came as a surprise as the organization did not know about Apple’s plans, but is happy that it is being implemented all the same.

According to Machado, “This is huge news for people’s safety. It literally means saving more lives. From spring onwards, both Android and iOS devices will be able to provide accurate location to rescuers. It is now up to the countries to deploy AML everywhere in the world.” Note that not all countries necessarily support the feature, but for those that do this will no doubt come as good news.

In the meantime for those who are unfamiliar with the feature, you can find out more details about it in the video above.

Star Wars: Jedi Challenges Gets New ‘The Last Jedi’ Content Pack

Last year together with Disney, Lenovo launched an augmented reality (AR) gaming experience called Star Wars: Jedi Challenges. Basically this involved the use of Lenovo’s Mirage AR headset where when paired with a lightsaber controller, allowed gamers to do battle in the Star Wars universe.

For those who do own the Mirage headset and would love to see more new content, you’ll be pleased to learn that Lenovo has announced a new content pack based around “The Last Jedi” movie which was released last year. According to Lenovo, “the content expansion features new experiences including the chance to duel two Praetorian Guards at the same time; three new Strategic Combat levels; and the introduction of Porgs for the first time in augmented reality as in-game rewards.”

The new content is free for gamers as long as they have the necessary hardware. The app itself is also free and can be downloaded via the iTunes App Store or Google Play, depending on your hardware of choice. That being said based on what we’re seeing so far, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Jedi Challenges app were to be updated in the future whenever new Star Wars movies are released, with the latest Star Wars title coming later this year in the form of a standalone Han Solo movie.

Trump Has A History Of Being Cocky And Unprepared Under Oath

That sounds good for special counsel Robert Mueller and bad for the president’s lawyers.

Midnight, so the theory goes, marks global calamity. It was founded back … Continue reading

Google Files Go now supports tablets, SD cards

Google made quite a surprising move when it launched its own Files Go file manager, not just for Android Go but for any Android device. Well, technically only Android smartphones. 2018’s iPhone X Could Feature Larger Batteries

Battery life on the iPhone is somewhat contentious, namely because in terms of capacity, iPhone batteries tend to be smaller compared to Android devices. However there is some good news for iPhone fans because according to a report from ETNews (via BGR), this year’s iPhones are expected to pack larger batteries.

What’s interesting is how the report claims that this change will come about in the way the batteries are designed. In case you didn’t know, the iPhone X has an L-shaped battery, which already offers up slightly more battery life compared to previous designs. However the report is saying that instead of two separate batteries joined together to form the “L”, this year’s iPhone could feature a single-cell L-shaped battery.

This does away with the need for a connector that connects the two separate batteries, and that in turn this could be used to help increase the capacity of the batteries. Ultimately this means that we could in theory see larger battery capacities for this year’s iPhones. This is actually not the first time we’ve heard about a potentially larger battery, but this is the first time we’re learning about how Apple plans to do it.

However we should note that not all models might get the bigger batteries. An earlier report claims that Apple will introduce a 6.1-inch iPhone model which will feature an LCD display instead of OLED, and might not use the L-shaped batteries, so perhaps that’s worth taking note of.

New Images, Video Of Samsung Galaxy S9 Leaked

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S9, S9+ will be announced at MWC on the 25th of February. However exactly what we can expect in terms of design and features has pretty much been the stuff of rumors, and now it looks like more leaks have since surfaced showing off the phone in question.

The latest leaks comes in the form of several renders and a video that allegedly shows off a dummy unit of the phone. The renders are from case maker Poetic Cases in which they show off various cases that can be used for the upcoming Galaxy S9. How accurate these renders are is unclear since they could simply be placeholders.

However a consistent rumor of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ is that they aren’t expected to look too different from their predecessors, and that the only differences in terms of physical shape and design is that it could have slightly slimmer bezels, but that would hard to determine just from the renders alone.

The renders do show off a dual camera on the back of the phone, which seems to be in line with a recent report that the phones could feature new ISOCELL cameras from Samsung. It also helps that the video showing off the dummy unit is similar to that of the renders, so at the very least the leaks are consistent. Either way we’ll find out soon enough, so until then take it with a grain of salt.
