Asus Zenfone 5 Lite Launched With Dual Front And Rear Cameras

Asus had teased the launch new handsets at the Mobile World Congress 2018 and that’s precisely what it has done today. The company has unveiled three new smartphones as part of its Zenfone 5 family today and one of which is the Asus Zenfone 5 Lite. As the name suggests, it’s the entry-level handset in this series.

The Asus Zenfone 5 Lite features a 6 inch 2160×1080 pixel resolution display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The fingerprint sensor is positioned at the back below the camera lens.

While we’re on the subject of cameras, the Asus Zenfone 5 lite features dual front and rear facing cameras. It features a 20 megapixel primary Sony IMX376 front camera coupled with a 120 degree wide angle second camera. There’s a 16 megapixel primary rear camera paired with another 120 degree wide angle secondary sensor.

The specs sheet that Asus put up during the announcement mentioned both the Snapdragon 830 and the Snapdragon 430 processors from Qualcomm so it’s likely that there might be different SKUs for the device. The variant that’s going to be released in the United States will be branded as the Zenfone 5Q and will feature the Snapdragon 630 chip.

It’s also going to feature a 3,300mAh battery, Face Unlock, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It ships with Android Nougat and not Oreo as some might have been expecting. The handset will be available in Moonlight White, Rouge Red, and Midnight Black colors in the coming months. The exact pricing and availability have yet to be confirmed, Asus will release the Zenfone 5 Lite next month.
