Ford is one of the many companies that are seriously working on the advancement of self-driving car technology. The company continues to run tests in order to further improve its service and to that end, it has now decided to test its self-driving cars in a new market: Miami. Ford has confirmed that it’s taking its self-driving service to the streets of Miami and Miami Beach.
Ford has confirmed that it’s taking its self-driving service to the streets of Miami and Miami Beach. The first part of its presence in the market will involve pilot programs throughout the year with partners such as Postmates and Domino’s.
What Ford learns from this test will be applied to the design of its purpose-built self-driving car that it’s planning to launch in 2021. Is Domino’s pilot is up and running in Miami and the company is now finalizing plans with Postmates to run one for its service next month.
Ford hasn’t said how many self-driving cars it’s going to put on the streets of Miami in this test but it does reiterate that all autonomous vehicles will have a safety driver behind the wheel at all times to take over should something go wrong.
It has also built a service center for its self-driving cars around downtown Miami. This will be the home base for Ford’s self-driving cars when they’re not out on the roads. It’s also where their sensors will be cleaned and calibrated and where the data they collect is harvested.

It has been a year since Microsoft Teams was introduced. It’s the company’s Slack competitor. For those who are unaware, Slack is a set of team collection tools and services that enable teams large and small to effectively communicate with each other. It has become very popular in a relatively short amount of time and Microsoft introduced its own take on Slack last year, however, it didn’t offer a free version. It looks like this is about to change.
According to a new report, the latest developer preview of Microsoft Teams contains several references to a free tier of the service, including one that will let users “upgrade to paid version.”
These references in the beta version suggest that Microsoft is currently testing this out before rolling it out to the public. There are no details available right now about how the free tier is going to work. The idea will likely be to compete more effectively against Slack which has thrived because of its freemium model that has enabled startups and small businesses to switch to its service.
A free tier for Microsoft Teams seems like a natural step forward for the service. However, Microsoft hasn’t confirmed or denied anything at this point in time, so it’s unclear if and when this new tier is going to be launched.
