Huawei P20 Lite Leaked, Specs Revealed

After the recent Huawei P20 leak, yet another handset from Huawei’s upcoming P20 series has been leaked online today by the same source. The company is going to launch its new P20 series at an event in Paris next month and it’s expected to introduce three new devices – the P20, P20 Lite, and P20 Pro. The Huawei P20 and P20 Lite have been leaked so far.

Evan Blass a.k.a @evleaks has a solid track record with leaks. He has posted an image of the Huawei P20 Lite online today along with some specifications of the upcoming device. Much like the P20, the P20 Lite has nearly bezel-less 18:9 aspect ratio display with a notch up top which will be used to house the front camera and additional sensors. Despite its “Lite” designation, the entry-level P20 model appears to have decent specifications.

Blass mentions that it’s going to be powered by Huawei’s Kirin 659 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It’s also going to feature a 3,520mAh battery and will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo. On the imaging front, the handset is said to feature two 16 megapixel cameras co-developed with Leica at the back. No word as yet on the pricing and availability information for this device.

Much of the hype about the P20 surrounds the P20 Pro. It’s going to be the flagship model that’s expected to feature a triple camera system at the back. Huawei hasn’t dropped a lot of hints about the new handsets as yet so we’ll have to wait until March 27th when it officially unveils the P20 family in Paris.

Google’s Slack Rival Hangouts Chat Rolling Out Next Week

Google first talked about Hangouts Chat last year. It’s a completely redesigned version of Hangouts that appears to be more of a Slack rival than the Hangouts messaging service most Google users are accustomed to. Google has been testing the new service since then as part of an “early adopter” program but it’s done with that now and will start rolling out Hangout Chats to all G Suite users next week.

Hangouts Chat is a completely different service and isn’t meant to replace Hangouts that Google users will still find in their Gmail inbox. It’s meant for businesses and startups that are looking for a cloud-based collaborative messaging service, it’s similar to Slack in that way.

Much like Slack, virtual rooms can be created in Hangouts Chat for different teams in a company. They can also be used to organize tasks or teams around a specific objective. Each virtual room can have up to 8,000 people so the service isn’t just meant for small businesses. Users get direct messaging and threaded conversations as well.

Google will offer Hangouts Chat apps for Android, iOS, macOS and Windows so that users can access the service on the platform that they use the most. There will also be a web interface for accessing the service. There are also a total of 25 bots that interface with other G Suite apps in Hangouts Chat so users can ping @Drive to get updates on shared files and @Meet to schedule meetings.

Google will start rolling out Hangout Chats to G Suite users from next week. It will be up to the companies that use G Suite to decide whether or not they want to enable it for their organization.

Amazon Gets Into UFC Pay-Per-View Fight Streaming

Amazon is seriously getting into the sports streaming business. It replaced Twitter as the streaming home of Thursday NFL games last year and the company has now started to sell access to pay-per-view UFC fights. It’s kicking things off with the upcoming bought between Cris Cyborg and Yana Kunitskaya on March 3rd.

The upcoming featherweight title bout is between champion Cris Cyborg and the Invicta bantamweight champion Yana Kunitskaya. It’s going to take place in Las Vegas on March 3rd at 10:00 PM ET.

Amazon is now selling streaming access to the fight for $65. Those who are willing to pay in order to access the stream will then be able to tune in using any device that they can access Amazon Prime Video on. Just to be clear, a Prime subscription isn’t required, so if one purchases streaming access to the fight they will be able to watch it even if they don’t subscribe to Amazon Prime.

This is the first time that Amazon has sold a pay-per-view package for live sports. Amazon’s deal with UFC means that users won’t have to pay for access to the fights through a cable or satellite providers. They can simply use the credit card that they have on file with Amazon.

The company hasn’t discussed the terms of its deal with UFC but reports suggest that Amazon will get the same cut that cable providers get in pay-per-view deals.
