Samsung has patented technology for true wireless charging — that is, charging that doesn’t even require the phone to touch the charging pad. Such technology has been dreamed about for decades, once being a common element in science fiction, soon hopefully to be a reality. Per the patent, Samsung’s system would make it possible to wirelessly charge a mobile device … Continue reading
The mobile payment system just got a little bit interesting. Just a while ago, Google announced the ability to send or request for payment, via Google Pay of course, using Google Assistant. This direct peer-to-peer payment has been one of the key features of certain mobile payment systems, including PayPal’s Venmo. Somewhat suspiciously, Venmo’s system is now under fire after … Continue reading

With Apple’s notification system, users have the choice of displaying a preview of the notification when they receive it, or hiding it so that anyone who glances at their phone won’t be able to see the contents of the notification until they unlock their device. However a recent Siri bug circumvented that protection.
According to a report from Engadget, Apple has confirmed to the publication that they are aware of the problem and will be issuing a fix. “We are aware of this issue and it will be addressed in an upcoming software update.” It is unclear when the update will be released and whether or not users will have to wait until iOS 11.3 or if it could be released sooner.
For those learning about this bug for the first time, basically even if you choose to disable previews in notifications, users can ask Siri to read their notifications out in which even those that are supposed to be hidden will be revealed. However it should be noted that this only seems to affect third-party apps and services, and that Apple’s own apps like Messages do not appear to have been affected by the bug.
While it’s not exactly a breaking bug, it is particularly concerning for those who might be sensitive about their privacy. Until a fix has been released, we suppose users who are worried about this can maybe try disabling Siri.

It is no secret that the iPhone is Apple’s biggest money-maker at the moment simply because in the world that we live in, everyone has and needs a phone, and the iPhone is one of the hottest commodities to own right now. However in a report from Business Insider, it seems that in the next few years, the iPhone could soon be displaced.
The report cites Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty who believes that in the next five years or so, the Apple Watch and some of Apple’s services could potentially overthrow the iPhone as Apple’s primary revenue growth driver. This isn’t to say that Apple’s iPhones will soon become a secondary focus for Apple, but rather according to Huberty, Apple’s revenue generator seems to be shifting more from the iPhone towards its services.
Based on her estimates, it is said that about 60% of revenue growth is attributable to services along with wearables like the Apple Watch, and that this will “will drive almost all of Apple’s growth over the next five years.” This is interesting because just last month, another analyst opined that Apple should launch a subscription service for software and hardware.
Apple has also recently acquired Texture, a magazine subscription service dubbed the Netflix of magazines. This will no doubt help boost their revenue too, unless they plan on scrapping it and creating something new.
