Just the other day Nintendo confirmed that Super Smash Bros. will be headed onto the Nintendo Switch later this year. The teaser trailer the company shared revealed that new characters would be headed for the game for the Switch version, which includes characters from Nintendo’s Splatoon franchise.
However could 2018 be the year that we see characters from other console platforms come to Super Smash Bros.? If Xbox boss Phil Spencer had his way, it seems that he wouldn’t mind seeing Banjo and Kazooie make their way into the game. This is actually not the first time that Spencer had suggested the idea.
Yep.

Back when Nintendo was creating DLCs for Smash Bros. on the Wii U and 3DS, he made a similar suggestion, and now fast forward a few years later, it’s still something he would be interested in. What’s interesting is the fact that the franchise was originally published for the Nintendo 64 back in 1998 before ultimately landing at Microsoft Game Studios who helped publish the latest title Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts back in 2008.
The Smash Bros. franchise isn’t a stranger to including characters from other non-Nintendo video games, like Final Fantasy, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Street Fighter, and Sonic, just to name a few, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that Banjo and Kazooie could be added to the list. Whether or not that will happen remains to be seen. In the meantime Super Smash Bros. for the Switch is available for pre-order on Amazon.

Just the other day HTC started to take pre-orders for its HTC Vive Pro virtual reality (VR) headset. The device was announced earlier this year and now it is finally available for pre-order. However it seems that in addition to taking pre-orders for the headset, HTC has also quietly introduced an upgraded Vive Tracker.
For those unfamiliar, the HTC Vive Tracker is an accessory for the HTC Vive that lets users track objects in VR. This resulted in companies creating peripherals and accessories that work for it, such as the Hyperkin Hyperblaster, or HTC’s own Racket Sports Pack. It can also be used to track the user’s body.
Like we said HTC did not make any kind of splashy announcement regarding the upgraded tracker, but when asked if the version that is being sold on HTC’s website is version 2.0, HTC Vive product manager Shen Ye answered in the affirmative. Unfortunately details about the upgraded version are unclear, but it is expected that it will support SteamVR Tracking 2.0 which will allow it to track objects in larger spaces, thus allowing developers to create larger play areas for VR.
@shen Are the trackers now available on the website the 2.0 version ?

Other than that it seems to be more or less the same as before where it will feature a 4.5 hour battery life when untethered and will communicate via 2.4GHz wireless. If you’re looking to take advantage of these changes, you can head on over to HTC’s website to get your hands on them.

Planning group trips can be tricky because everyone has an idea of where they want to go, where they want to stay, what they want to do, and more importantly when they are free. The good news is that if you and your friends or family members use Skype, planning group trips has gotten easier.
This is because according to Microsoft, Skype will now support TripAdvisor and StubHub add-ins. According to Microsoft, “The TripAdvisor add-in for Skype lets you tap into the world’s largest travel site from your group chat to help plan a trip. With the new TripAdvisor add-in, you can instantly share information with your group about where to stay, what to do, and where to eat with friends.”
The same is applied to StubHub where the add-in will help streamline the entire process where users can find tickets for upcoming events, buy them, and share the details of events with those in the group. All of this is done without the user having to leave Skype or switch to a browser which can be inefficient and you might miss messages in between.
So far the new add-ins are available on Skype for Mac, Skype for mobile, and according to Microsoft, are in the process of being rolled out onto Skype for Windows 10 as well.

Previously YouTube allowed creators to post live streams and this was easily accomplished if you were trying to stream live from your mobile device. However streaming from your desktop on the other hand is a different story but in an announcement by YouTube, live streaming via desktop is now available to all.
According to YouTube, “Today we’re making it easier to go live and interact with your community from your computer and phone. First, if you’ve ever tried to set up a live stream from your computer using an encoder, you know there can be a few steps involved. Today, we’re making the process as easy as a couple of clicks.”
Prior to this, the feature was limited to testing by select creators, but it seems that the feature is now available to all. To live stream, just go to the top right corner of your YouTube page and click “Go Live” and you’ll be good to go! All users need is a webcam, a microphone, and they have to use Google Chrome.
For non-Chrome users, not to worry as YouTube will eventually bring support to other browsers. In addition to going live from desktop, YouTube has also announced plans to make it easier to post live broadcasts from your mobile device. In the next few months, select handsets from Asus, LG, Motorola, Nokia, and Samsung will soon be able to start a live stream directly from the camera app.

At MWC 2018 last month, Google kicked the AR doors open when it launched ARCore, the spiritual successor to its now-defunct Project Tango, as a version 1.0 stable release. That was practically the green light for developers to start their engines and bring their AR ideas to life. There hasn’t exactly been a flood of those, sadly, but Google is … Continue reading
