Good morning there! A new week starts, and we’re headed to GDC: the biggest game development event out there. At the same time, we’re embarrassing ourselves with chindogu, as seen above. Also: You’ve heard of Fortnite right? Where did it come from? A…
A couple of years ago when Activision announced Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, they also announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, which as the name implies is a remaster of Modern Warfare. For those who enjoyed the remaster, you might be interested to learn that Modern Warfare 2 Remastered could be in the works.
This is according to a listing on Amazon Italy spotted by IGN Italia (via IGN) in which Modern Warfare 2 Remastered was listed for both the Xbox One and the PS4. It also goes on to list the game’s release date for the 30th of April which isn’t too far off, although it does seem like a weird time to be launching a game.
Activision has yet to confirm the existence of Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, but given that the first remastered game was well-received, we wouldn’t be surprised if Activision were to pursue the idea of remastering more older Call of Duty games. That being said, Activision did confirm that the next Call of Duty title, Black Ops 4, will be released on the 12th of October, 2018.
If Activision is doing what they did last time, then perhaps Modern Warfare 2 Remastered could be released as a bundle with the game. Either way more details about Black Ops 4 will be shared on the 17th of May, so maybe Modern Warfare 2 Remastered could be announced then as well.

Apple is a company that prefers relying on itself if possible, at least that’s the impression that they give as they typically control both the hardware and software of its products. In fact certain hardware components are designed by Apple, like their A-series of chipsets, instead of relying on third-party companies like Qualcomm.
This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that according to a report from Bloomberg, it appears that Apple could be looking to develop their own displays next. The report claims that Apple has made a significant investment into the development of MicroLED displays, and are using a secret manufacturing facility near its HQ in California to build and test these displays out.
It is also said that MicroLEDs are more difficult to produce than OLEDs (which are known to be notoriously difficult to make) and Apple had nearly killed the project a year ago, but presumably they are moving forwards with it. MicroLED is said to be more energy-efficient compared to OLEDs and will help make future devices slimmer and brighter.
This is actually not the first time we are hearing about Apple’s interest in MicroLED. The company has filed patents in the past with rumors that 2018’s Apple Watch could come with such a display. However when exactly these displays will make their debut remains to be seen, so take it with a grain of salt for now.

Our mobile phones are essentially computers that we can put in our pockets. They allow us to surf the web, play games, chat with our friends, edit photos, and edit videos. When it comes to video editing apps, there are quite a few to choose from, like Samsung’s Movie Maker app. However it looks like Samsung will be killing off the app.
According to reports, it looks like following the update to Android P, it seems that Samsung will be killing it off. This is according to messages that users are receiving when the app is launched in which Samsung states that the app will no longer be available after Android P has been released.
They also note that all projects will be deleted which means that users will want to quickly export their files before it’s too late. However note that Android P’s release is still a very long way off and if previous releases are anything to go by, chances are we are looking at a release towards the later part of the year.
This gives users some time to export their files, although we suggest not waiting until the last minute. That being said, it’s also probably a good time to start researching on alternative movie editing apps for your phone.

Li-Fi is an interesting piece of technology which is solves some of the downsides of WiFi, namely coverage and range. With WiFi, this is largely dictated by things like your router’s hardware and strength, whether or not there are walls or doors that might be blocking the WiFi signal, and so on.
However it seems that Li-Fi is slowly starting to catch on as Philips has recently announced that they have started testing out the technology in Paris in a small pilot program. For those unfamiliar with Li-Fi technology, it basically uses light to transmit internet, so essentially as long as you’re within an illuminated area, you will have internet.
Like we said, this does away with one of WiFi’s problems where users might have to resort to buying extenders or creating a mesh network. Philips’ interest in Li-Fi isn’t new as the company acquired Luciom last year, a French company that integrates broadband internet into lighting. Given that Philips is also known for their lighting products (amongst other things), it makes perfect sense.
The company already dabbles in smart lighting products like the Hue, so we wouldn’t be surprised if future Hue bulbs could also provide internet coverage. Philips is also not alone in this, but when exactly Li-Fi will catch on and become the new standard remains to be seen.
