Galaxy S9 Samsung Pay Issues To Be Fixed Soon Via Update

It’s not uncommon for minor issues to surface when a new flagship smartphone is released and that appears to be the case with the Galaxy S9 as well. Several reports have surfaced online related to Galaxy S9 Samsung Pay issues. Those who have received their units early complain that Samsung’s mobile payments service isn’t working on the new handset. The company hasn’t really said anything about what might be causing these Galaxy S9 Samsung Pay issues, not yet anyway.

Many Galaxy S9 customers have received their units ahead of the official March 16th release date. Some of them have taken to online forums such as Reddit to complain that Samsung Pay won’t work after they try to set it up on the device.

As you can imagine, this is a nuisance for users who rely on Samsung Pay to make payments on the go daily and are unable to do that now as they’ve switched devices. Trying to set up Samsung Pay returns the “Samsung Pay is not supported on this device” error.

If the app is installed through Samsung’s Galaxy App store the incompatible message goes away but then it shows a pop-up which prompts that there’s a new update available and tapping on OK will just send the user back to the home screen.

One such user got in touch with Samsung support and was told that some Galaxy S9 units are facing issues with Samsung Pay and that all users can do right now is wait for an update which is going to be released “soon.”
