Nest might be a company known for their smart thermostat, smoke alarm, and home security cameras, but in case you missed the news, Nest recently teamed up with lockmaker Yale to launch a smart lock, which together with the Nest video doorbell are finally available for purchase.
Starting with the smart lock, like we said this is a collaboration between Nest and Yale. This is a WiFi-equipped lock that does not require a key, and will instead work with a code to unlock the door. Homeowners will also be able to control who has access to the lock via their phone, which means that you won’t need to physically give relatives or friends your house key when you’re not around.
As for the Nest Hello doorbell, this is rather straightforward as this is a doorbell that comes with a built-in camera that allows users see who might be at the door. The doorbell will be able to alert users when someone’s at the door, and will also be able to issue canned responses if you are unable to open the door in a timely manner.
In terms of pricing, the Nest Yale smart lock will retail for $249 while the Nest Hello video doorbell will go for $229.

Despite the Klingdon language existing in the fictional Star Trek universe, it has been made “real” as there are Star Trek fans who actually know how to speak the language. In fact if you are interested in learning Klingon, you might be interested to learn that Duolingo’s Klingon language course is finally available.
The Klingon language course has been in the works for years and this is because Duolingo largely relied on volunteers to help bring the program to life. Speaking to Engadget, Duolingo’s senior PR manager Michaela Kron said, “On our end, it took some time to find Klingon experts who could commit the time and effort to creating a full-fledged course, as we wanted the course to be substantial and cover a lot of ground.”
Kron also mentions that Duolingo normally develops their courses internally, but for Klingon they had to turn to outside help. “While some of our earliest courses were built internally, most Duolingo courses are built by volunteers using the Duolingo Incubator. Through an application process, we carefully vet the volunteer contributors to ensure their skill level and commitment to the project needs. Then our team of language learning experts, linguistics PhDs, and tech staff help review the courses and provide QA and testing.”
The Klingon course is free for those who have downloaded the Duolingo app, so it could be worth checking out if you’re interested. In the meantime Duolingo is also home to Game of Thrones’ High Valyrian if Star Trek isn’t really your jam.

Konami’s Super Bomberman R was an exclusive launch title for the Nintendo Switch, but it seems that the exclusivity will be coming to an end soon. According to reports, it appears that the game has recently been spotted on the Microsoft Store for the Xbox One where it is slated to be launched on the 14th of June, 2018.
This suggests that the game will no longer be exclusive to the Switch and could indicate that it is also ready to arrive for other platforms. Unfortunately for now only the Xbox One has been mentioned and it is unclear if the game will eventually find its way onto the Sony PS4 console or maybe even PC.
The Bomberman franchise is a pretty old one but it looks like Konami has decided to revive it with a title for the Switch. The Switch version of Super Bomberman R features multiplayer support with up to 8 players at once, and given the console’s ability to share controls using the Joy-Cons, it makes local play considerably easier.
The 8 player local support will also be applicable to the Xbox One version of the game, but in this instance every player will be required to have a controller of their own. It will also support online multiplayer.

Last year Bethesda announced that Skyrim VR would be headed onto the PC where it would be playable on devices like the HTC Vive. It was largely assumed that it would be only available on the HTC Vive, but the game’s pre-order page on Steam (via GameSpot) has revealed a surprise and that is it will support the Oculus Rift as well.
It was also listed that the game would play nicely with Microsoft Windows Mixed Reality, but the support for Oculus Rift was really unexpected. This is because while HTC and Oculus were sort of the first on the scene with VR headsets, it quickly became apparent that they were both hoping to dominate the landscape separately.
This resulted in games being made exclusive for either platform, similar to what we are seeing with the PS4 and Xbox One, so to see a game that is compatible for both the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift is a bit surprising. This is clearly good news for gamers since it means that more people can enjoy the game now.
Skyrim is currently available for pre-purchase on Steam where it is expected to be released on the 3rd of April, 2018. It will cost $60 and will include all the DLCs that have been released to date.
