Elon Musk took the stage about 30 minutes late at the Moody Theater in downtown Austin, Texas, and when he finally appeared, the sold-out crowd cheered and jumped to their feet, smartphones glowing. His conversation at SXSW was a surprise, announced…

You might not have to wait long to see SpaceX’s BFR rocket system in action… maybe. In a talk at SXSW, Elon Musk said he expected the spacecraft’s first “short up-and-down flights” by the first half of 2019. He was quick to hedge his claim, noting…
Snapchat users can now @ tag their friends in their Story. There’s a new option in the popular app now that will detail the tagged user’s name, Bitmoji, handle, and Add button so that those who are viewing the story can add that person as well. The feature is similar to @ mentions that Instagram added back in November 2016.
Instagram introduced @ mentions to Stories in November 2016 not too long after it essentially cloned Snapchat’s Stories feature. It appears that Snapchat is now taking a page out of its rival’s book.
This feature lets users @ mention someone in the photos or videos that they capture using the Snapchat camera. They won’t see a type-ahead drop-down menu found on social networks like Twitter, though. When someone views their Snap, they will see a More option prompting them to swipe up. This will reveal the mentioned user’s profile information alongside an add button. The person who gets tagged in a story will receive a notification about it.
Snapchat has confirmed to TechCrunch that it is “testing” the @ tagging feature but hasn’t provided more details. So it’s unclear at this point in time if Snapchat will yank this feature if the test returns results that are not up to expectations. The test also appears to be limited to select users at this point in time.

If you’ve used Twitter for long enough, you’ve probably seen someone retweet a truism or obviously plagiarized quote from accounts that are clearly trying to force their tweets to go viral. You won’t have to put up with some of those accounts from no…
If you want Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant to do something for you all you need to do is say “Hey, Alexa” and it will wake up and start listening for a command. However, if you want to give multiple commands one after the other, it can be a nuisance to say “Hey, Alexa” over and over again before every command. Amazon has now made it easier to give follow-up commands to Alexa and speakers powered by the assistant will now be able to listen to back-to-back commands.
Users can now enable Alexa’s Follow-Up Mode which will ensure that the speaker continues to listen for a second command a few seconds after the first command is given. This will eliminate the need for users to say the “Hey, Alexa” hotword before every single command.
Amazon points out that Alexa won’t register the follow-up command until the assistant is “confident” that the user is speaking to it. This means that the user will have to clearly issue the command because if they don’t, Alexa probably won’t separate it from the background noise. Moreover, it won’t wait for follow-up commands if Alexa is streaming music or playing an audiobook.
Users also don’t have to worry about Alexa thinking that it has been given a follow-up command when they’re talking to someone else in the room. They can end their conversation with Alexa by simply saying “thank you,” “stop,” “cancel,” or “go to sleep.”

To say that Black Panther has been a hit would be a massive understatement. The movie clinched a record $235 million opening last month at 4,020 locations in North America, earning it the second place on the list of all record openings for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Disney has now announced that Black Panther’s worldwide box office take will cross the $1 billion mark.
Directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther will join the three comma club over this weekend, Disney has said. It’s going to be the 16th Walt Disney Studios release to achieve this milestone.
Some of the other titles that have raked in over a billion dollars worldwide include Captain America: Civil War, Iron Man 3, The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Black Panther will cross this major milestone on the 26th day since its release.
The movie has made $521 million domestically so far making it the ninth highest grossing film in history. Black Panther opened in China this weekend and has seen a solid start there, bringing in $22 million on the first day according to Disney’s estimates.
Black Panther has been setting records with good reason as it currently has a 97 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. It has become one of the best-reviewed films based on a comic book in history.
