Burnout Paradise Remastered Play First Trial Goes Live

Electronic Arts’ studio Criterion Games announced last month that Burnout Paradise Remastered will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in March. Many who played this game when it first came out several years ago will be excited about the possibility of taking the game for a spin once again with some improvements in the remastered version. EA Access subscribers can now get their hands on the Burnout Paradise Remastered Play First Trial on Xbox One.

The open-world arcade racer Burnout Paradise has been remastered with high-resolution textures and support for 4K at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox One X. The remastered version of the game includes the original title as well as the eight add-on games packs released during the Year of Paradise. The extension to the drivable world Big Surf Island is also included.

Xbox One and Xbox One X owners who subscribe to EA Access can now play Burnout Paradise Remastered. The Play First Trial will provide them with ten hours of gameplay. All of the progress made during those ten hours will carry over if they decide to purchase the title once it’s released.

Burnout Paradise Remastered is going to be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 16. EA hasn’t announced as yet if this title will be released for the Nintendo Switch.

Racist GIF Forces Instagram And Snapchat To Remove Giphy Integration

GIFs are very popular online which is why many social media apps have integrated with services that offer these stickers so that their users can easily insert them into their posts and conversations. However, both Instagram and Snapchat have pulled Giphy integration from their apps after an extremely racist GIF was discovered in Giphy’s library.

The GIF says “N—- Crime Death Counter — Keep Cranking Bonzo, the Numbers Just Keep on Climbing!,” and as previously mentioned, it’s extremely racist and uncalled for. It’s certainly not the kind of GIF that Instagram and Snapchat would have wanted their users to see in the library which is why both have now yanked Giphy integration from their apps.

It was first discovered on Snapchat which disabled the integration and a spokesperson for the company confirmed to TechCrunch that Snapchat had removed the feature while it waited “for Giphy’s team to take a look at it.”

The same GIF was also found in Giphy on Instagram merely hours later and that’s when the Facebook-owned company decided to take the same action. A spokesperson for Instagram also said that the integration had been disabled as Giphy looks into the matter.

Giphy has since removed the offensive GIF and said in a statement that it was available in its library due to “a bug in our content moderation filters “specifically affecting GIF stickers.” The company has taken full responsibility for the event and sincerely apologized to anyone offended by it.
