Microsoft finally started selling the much-awaited Surface Pro with LTE in December last year, however, it only opened up sales for business customers initially. The company has now decided to allow consumers to purchase the Surface Pro with LTE. Starting today, those who want to pick one up can head over to Microsoft’s online store and place a pre-order for this device.
Microsoft is selling two models of the Surface Pro with LTE and both are powered by Intel’s latest Core i5 7300U processor packed in a fanless design. It’s charging $1,149 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant and $1,449 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB variant.
Interested customers can pre-order the Surface Pro with LTE starting today from Microsoft’s online store. However, it seems like only the 8GB RAM variant is available for pre-order at this point in time. It’s likely that the other variants may also become available soon.
The product’s listing page on the online store mentions that Microsoft will start shipping out units to customers by May 1st and that’s also when it’s going to be available for purchase through Best Buy stores across the country.
Customers who are looking to use the Type Cover or Surface Pen with the Surface Pro with LTE will have to purchase both accessories separately for $129 and $99 respectively.

Toyota is joining the growing list of car manufacturers who are dropping diesel-powered cars from their lineups, at least in Europe. The Japanese auto giant has confirmed today that it will no longer sell diesel cars in Europe after 2018. It will slowly phase out the diesel models from its lineup over the course of this year.
Toyota Europe CEO Johan van Zyl confirmed in Geneve today that the company will stop selling diesel-powered passenger cars in Europe by the end of this year. The models account for less than 10 percent of its sales in the region.
The announcement follows one from Toyota’s division in Italy which confirmed in January this year that it would no longer sell diesel-powered passenger cars in the country. Toyota has already moved ahead with the plan to phase out these models from the European market with the launch of its new Auris hatchback which will be offered with two hybrid and one gasoline powertrains.
Toyota has done this once before with the C-HR that was launched in 2016. The car was launched without a diesel version and the Auris will now go down the same path.
However, the company will continue to offer diesel models of its Land Cruiser SUV, Hilux pickup truck and Proace light commercial vehicles as some customers prefer the higher torque that’s offered by diesel engines.

It appears that Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new version of its popular wearable device, the Mi Band. The company’s CEO has teased what might be the Mi Band 3. It’s about time that the company came out with a new wearable activity tracker as the current model was launched over two years ago. There’s likely going to be a lot of interest for this product as both the Xiaomi Mi Band and Mi Band 2 performed very well in the market.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun teased the Mi Band 3 at an event where he said that “We look forward to the new version of the Xiaomi band.” That can pretty much be taken as a confirmation that the company will soon release its new wearable activity tracker. A device believed to be the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 recently received Bluetooth certification which also flared up rumors that Xiaomi might soon announce a new wearable product.
Reports suggest that the Mi Band 3 is going to have an OLED display with the ability to display heart rate data, time, step count, calories, and other useful information.
It’s unclear right now how much the Mi Band 3 might cost when it does arrive. Given that both its predecessors cost under $30, it’s quite likely that this basic activity tracker would be similarly priced as well.
