Overwatch Gets A New Hero In ‘Brigitte Lindholm’

In the past week or so, Blizzard has been steadily teasing that we might get a new hero, with the latest tease suggesting that the new hero could be none other than Torbjorn’s daughter. Turns out the speculation was right because Blizzard has since officially announced Brigitte Lindholm, the youngest of Torbjorn’s daughters.

According to Blizzard, “The youngest of Torbjörn’s daughters, Brigitte is an adventurer who travels with her godfather—Reinhardt Wilhelm—to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. Previously, she aided Reinhardt by repairing his armor but as time has passed, Brigitte has realized that there is some damage that her hammer cannot fix. Her desire to help stronger than ever, Reinhardt is training her to fight while she built her own armor in secret. Now she fights alongside him on the front line, where she can make an even bigger difference.”

As you can see in the trailer above, Brigitte comes wielding a mace/hammer along with a shield whose crest was revealed in the previous tease by Blizzard. The good news for Overwatch gamers is that it looks like Brigitte is now playable in the Overwatch PTR, which is used by Blizzard to test out new features in the game, including new heroes, so if you’re interested you can take the new hero for a spin. Blizzard does not mention when Brigitte will be added into the main game, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
