Apple Watch Series 4 Could Sport A New Design, Bigger Display

For the past three generations or so, Apple has kept the Apple Watch’s design the same. While some might argue that there is no need to change it, the good news is that if you were hoping to see a new design, you might be interested to learn that according KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo, that could change in the Apple Watch Series 4.

According to Kuo, he claims that the Apple Watch Series 4, which is due to be launched later this year, will sport a new-ish design. When we say new-ish, it is because for the most part the watch will look similar to its predecessors, except that it might come with a bigger display, or according to Kuo, about 15% bigger.

As it stands the Apple Watch is offered in 38mm or 42mm screen sizes, but Kuo did not mention if this could result in a larger chassis or thinner bezels. Given how we’ve seen Apple try to push their displays as close to the edge as possible, like with the iPhone X, thinner bezels makes more sense, plus it would also mean that Apple Watch users can continue using the same bands.

Kuo has been right on the money for the majority of his reports, so there is a good chance that this could be true too. However since it isn’t official information, it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now.

Scientists Create Calcium ‘Sun Shield’ To Protect The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the marvels of nature, but it seems that unless we do something about it, we might one day be saying that the Great Barrier Reef was one of the marvels of nature. However thankfully scientists in Australia might have come up with a way to protect what’s left of it.

This is by creating a calcium “sun shield” that helps protect the reef from the effects of coral bleaching. For those unfamiliar, coral bleaching happens when the water is too warm resulting in the corals expelling algae living in their tissues. These algaes are what gives the coral their unique and vibrant colors.

With the creation of this “sun shield”, it will basically sit on top of the water where it will float and help protect the corals from the effects. This film is said to be biodegradable and 50,000 times thinner than a human hair and is capable of decreasing sunlight by as much as 30%. In their tests, scientists have found that this shield has decreased the bleaching that takes place.

However given that the reef measures 216,000 square miles, creating a shield that’s big enough to cover all of it would be almost impossible, but but managing director of the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, Anna Marsden said that it could be used for high-value or high-risk areas.

John Cena Confirmed To Be Starring In Upcoming Duke Nukem Movie

The other day it was reported that a new Duke Nukem movie was in the works and that it could star none other than John Cena, which we have to admit looks like he could pull off the role perfectly. For those wondering about the rumors, it looks like it has since been confirmed by Andrew Form, one of the producers of the movie.

Speaking to CinemaBlend, Form was quoted as saying when asked about Cena’s involvement in the movie. “Yeah, that’s what we’re working with now. He is. Yes. We don’t have a script yet, so that is confirmed at this point but if he reads the script and he doesn’t like the script I’m sure there’s ways that he could pull out, but right now he’s our guy.”

There is still no word on when the movie will be coming out and apart from it being based on the Duke Nukem franchise, it is unclear as to what the exact story will be. This seems to suggest that we could still be quite a long way of from finding out what exactly it will be like, although it seems that the producers are looking to Deadpool for some inspiration.

According to Form, “We are working on Duke Nukem right now. It’s going to be about tone. That’s about tone. How do you nail that tone in the way that Deadpool nailed the tone? I think we have to do that and if we don’t get the tone right then we’re not going to make the movie.”

Third-Party Nintendo Switch Docks Are Reportedly Bricking Consoles

The upside to using official accessories is that they’re pretty much guaranteed to work with the product that you’re using. Granted they are expensive, but that assurance is probably worth it. However when it comes to third-party accessories, that’s where it gets a little cloudy, which unfortunately is what some Nintendo Switch owners are discovering for themselves.

According to reports, it seems that some Switch owners who are using third-party docks have reported that their consoles have been bricked as a result. The dock in question seems to be the one created by Nyko, although there have been reports of other brands facing similar problems.

One of the reports claims that the gamer has been using the dock for several months, but following the update to Switch firmware version 5.0.0, that’s when the console started to bug out. The console initially gave off some error messages, but eventually stopped turning on completely.

The good news is that Nintendo seems to be well-aware of the issue and according to the gamer in question, when he contacted Nintendo, the company is offering to repair the console if it was under warranty, although any data recovery would be unlikely. On Nyko’s end, the company is looking into the issue and are working on a solution.
