The Trump administration may have blocked the purchase of Qualcomm by Broadcom, but another transaction seems to have flown under its radar. Taiwan-based Foxconn is probably best known for assembling iPhones but it has recently been expanding its reach to become a force to reckon with in the hardware business. Now it has just announced that it will be acquiring … Continue reading
It’d be an understatement to say the Twitch app for PS4 needed some tweaking. Apart from looking more than a little like the Xbox One version, it just wasn’t great for quickly hopping into a favorite channel or seeing what’s popular among your favor…
While there are some who still believe that gas-powered cars are more powerful than electric, the trend is definitely shifting to electric, so much so that companies that used to ignore the electric car segment are starting to take a look at it. The good news is that we can add another company to that list in the form of Bentley.
In a report from Auto Express (via Auto Blog), Bentley lead designer Stefan Sielaff has confirmed to the publication that electric cars are something that they will be looking into in the near future. He was quoted as saying, “A full electric Bentley is something I am extremely convinced we have to do. It will happen not so far in the future.”
It might be too early to tell what Bentley might come up with, but when asked what Sielaff had in mind, the designer said that he was looking to make it a completely fresh and new development as opposed to imitating another concept. He also states that this would give the team “a great chance to establish a completely new design language for the company.”
It’s not a surprise that Bentley is tossing their hat into the ring because like we said, many carmakers have started to get into electric cars as well. Let’s not forget Tesla who have been making waves for creating electric cars with incredible performance and looks, something that we’re sure many super car makers will want a slice of.

It has been rumored for a couple of years that Apple could be looking to eventually phase out iTunes music downloads. The company has denied such claims many times, but could the iTunes music download model eventually be replaced? That’s what Apple Music exec Jimmy Iovine thinks.
Speaking to the BBC, Iovine claims that it is “inevitable” that the model will eventually come to an end. While Iovine is not offering a timeframe as to when it will happen, he was quoted as saying, “If I’m honest, it’s when people stop buying. It’s very simple.” The exec has been somewhat bearish with regards to the digital music scene, where recently he stated that he feels that all music streaming services are too similar to each other.
However whether or not his predictions will come true remains to be seen, but given his lengthy tenure in the music industry, he has definitely seen his share of trends that have risen and fallen. Plus over the years we’ve also seen music formats change, where cassette tapes were once the mainstream format only to be replaced by CDs, which was later replaced by digital.
That being said, formats do make a comeback such as vinyl which seems to be on the rise these days, despite the fact that they were replaced by multiple formats since its original release.

The Moto G6 lineup is a series of phones that we have been hearing about for the past couple of months. A bunch of leaked information and renders have appeared online, although we suppose given that they are leaks, it’s hard to say if they are the real deal. However a recent sighting on TENAA has pretty much confirmed it.
For those unfamiliar, TENAA’s is China’s equivalent of the FCC in the US where handsets have to pass through it to gain approval if they hope to sell it in the country. Based on the listing and the accompanying images, it looks like the earlier leaked Moto G6 renders are pretty much in line with what we’re seeing.
This includes the use of a dual camera setup on the back which is a nice touch for a mid-ranged handset. As for the rest of the specs, we have been hearing that it will feature an 18:9 display and the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset. The listing on TENAA confirms its 5.7-inch display and a 3,000mAh, but that’s pretty much all they revealed.
We have also previously heard that it might be offered in 3GB or 4GB RAM configurations, along with 32GB or 64GB storage options. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully the sighting on TENAA means that we’re close to seeing it officially launched.

These days thanks to our smartphones constantly being on our person all the time, we are starting to see a shift in the way we do certain things. For example shopping which used to be done on the desktop is starting to become more common on mobile devices, and users are also surfing a lot more on their phones than before.
So much so that mobile-optimized websites are no longer an afterthought but almost a necessity. This is why Google has announced that they will be rolling out their mobile-first indexing when it comes to search results. The initial plan for mobile-first indexing was announced nearly two years ago and it looks like it has finally been brought to fruition.
For those unfamiliar with mobile-first indexing, basically for those who search on Google via their mobile devices, Google will try and prioritize search results where websites with mobile versions are returned in search results, at least where possible. The idea behind it is to give users the best experience when searching on their phones, where sometimes websites that have no mobile versions make it incredibly difficult to use on our smaller displays.
According to Google, “Mobile-first indexing is about how we gather content, not about how content is ranked. Content gathered by mobile-first indexing has no ranking advantage over mobile content that’s not yet gathered this way or desktop content. Moreover, if you only have desktop content, you will continue to be represented in our index.”

With Motorola reportedly killing off its Moto X lineup, many are probably wondering what will become of the company? Will we be seeing more Motorola products in the future, or is this the beginning of the end? The good news is that it isn’t the latter and that new Motorola products could actually be announced next month.
This is according to a post on the Motorola Blog where the company introduced their new president Sergio Buniac who will be replacing Aymar de Lencquesaing. The post contains the usual spiel about Buniac’s track record at the company and his experience, and how he’s the right choice to lead Motorola moving forwards.
However what’s interesting in the post is the hint that new products could be coming as early as next month. According to the post, “We realize we’ve had a great deal of transformation over the past years, and we’re grateful for our fans’ support and commitment. We’re excited for what 2018 (and beyond!) is going to bring us and look forward to sharing our first products of the year with you next month!”
The company does not mention what products might be launched, but hopefully we’ll be seeing new Moto Z models and possibly the new Moto G6 handsets that was recently spotted on TENAA.
