Necessity is the mother of invention, and the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is the perfect example of what can happen when you embrace the evaporation of your comfort zone. With is Millennially-minded Scion sub-brand getting the axe in 2016, Toyota could no longer focus on that audience’s parents and grandparents alone. Instead, it doubled-down on tech, engineering cleverness, and value, … Continue reading

The Tomb Raider franchise is a long and storied one, but in recent years it was rebooted to give the game a grittier feel which we reckon that they’ve managed to accomplish. However it seems that the game has taken its grittiness and darkness to the next level with the upcoming Shadow of the Tomb Raider in which the game’s latest trailer has been released.
For those unfamiliar, Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be the next installment in the Tomb Raider franchise following the release of Rise of the Tomb Raider back in 2015. It will also be the third installment in the rebooted franchise. It is unclear if the rebooted franchise will just be a trilogy of Tomb Raider games or if there could be more in the works.
According to Square Enix, Shadow of the Tomb Raider will see Lara Croft attempt to save the world from a Mayan event apocalypse. In any case the new trailer looks pretty good and while it’s not in-game footage, it does a good job of hyping its release. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is currently set for a release on the 14th of September.
The various editions of the game have been announced along with a season pass that will contain additional content.

When the Nintendo Switch first came out, many gamers were pretty happy with what they got. However there were quite a few reports of users experiencing connectivity issues with the left Joy-Con. It was speculated that the antenna design of the left Joy-Con could be the problem, although Nintendo for the most part reassured gamers that there were no issues.
However it seems that despite Nintendo’s claims of no issues on the left Joy-Con, they could have an updated version of it in the works, as evidenced by recent photos that show the controller being submitted to the FCC. It is unclear as to what changes Nintendo might have made, but it has been speculated that this new submission could be an updated version of the left controller that addresses the connectivity issue.
It is possible that it might have been redesigned internally, such as a better/new antenna design, which is why Nintendo needs to resubmit it to the FCC for approval since it is a different component from the previous version. That being said it is unclear which batches of the Switch could benefit from this updated design, although to Nintendo’s credit there haven’t really been many complaints about faulty Joy-Cons since then.

The Nintendo Switch supports online play (obviously), but one of the changes that Nintendo will be making that they haven’t really done in the past is that they will start charging gamers a subscription fee to use its online gaming services, similar to what other gaming companies like Sony and Microsoft have done.
Details about the service are scarce at the moment, but for Switch gamers who want to learn more, not to worry as details are expected to be shared next month. This is according to Nintendo who in their recent financial results briefing stated that details about the upcoming service will be shared more in detail in May.
So far what we do know of the Switch’s online service is that it will be cheap compared to the competition. Last we heard Nintendo confirmed that it would only cost gamers $20 a year in terms of subscription which works out to be less than $2 a month. Alternatively Nintendo is also offering a month-to-month subscription where it will be priced at $3.99 which is obviously more expensive.
Nintendo had also previously promised gamers that their upcoming service would be worth the wait, but whether or not that is true remains to be seen but we suppose we’ll find out more next month.
