Scholarships to schools are usually given on the merit of the person applying for it, and in the past it used to be based on either how smart the student is based on their grades, or if they were athletic enough where they could represent the school that they are applying for. However these days we are starting to see a different type of scholarship where schools are giving them out to students who perform well in eSports.
In fact it seems that the Ashland University in Ohio have announced that they will be giving out scholarships for students who perform well in Epic Games’ Fortnite Battle Royale. Fortnite has been out for a while now, but the success of the game on mobile has shown that it has huge potential to be the next eSport. Ashland University already has an eSports program and Fortnite will be the latest title that they will be adding to their roster.
According to head coach Josh Buchanan, “Fortnite appeals to both the core and casual gaming audience. We’re excited to provide this platform for gamers who want to showcase their skills in a more competitive space. Fortnite facilitates an environment that allows players to get creative, innovate and show off their mastery of their skills.” There are hopes that eventually collegiate leagues will be able to come together for official Fortnite competitions.

If you bought a 13-inch MacBook Pro without Touch Bar between October 2016 to October 2017, it seems that you might be eligible for a battery replacement. This is because Apple has recently launched a battery replacement program for the laptop where they claim that there is an issue with its battery.
However note that this doesn’t affect all 13-inch non-Touch Bar MacBook Pro models, but rather a small number of them. By that we’re not sure how many are affected but apparently Apple doesn’t seem to think that there are that many out there. For those who want to check whether or not their laptops are affected, they can head on over to Apple’s website, enter their serial number to check against the system.
If your laptop is one of the ones that are affected, you have the option of either mailing your laptop in, find an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or visit an Apple Retail Store to get it fixed. Note that this doesn’t extend the warranty of your laptop, and that if you had previously paid for a battery replacement, you will have to contact Apple for a refund.
This program is valid for 5 years from the release of the 13-inch MacBook Pro without Touch Bar, so you’ve got a couple of years left to take advantage of it if you haven’t done so already.

Going on holiday is usually a relaxing thing to do, but different people have different ways of relaxing, and if playing games is your way to taking a load off, then the Hilton hotel in Panama might be worth checking out. Why, you ask? This is because the hotel has furnished a room complete with Alienware hardware.
In a report from Xataka (via PC Gamer), the Hilton has a room in their Panama location that appears to be completely dedicated to gaming. As you can see from the photo above, it seems that it has everything gamers need and more. For starters there will be a massive display that players can enjoy their games on.
There will also be an Alienware computer setup, a chair complete with surround sound, and it seems that if gamers want to enjoy virtual reality, there is an Oculus Rift unit on standby. However that’s not all because if you just want to relax in bed and game, there will also be Alienware laptops provided as an alternative.
Unsurprisingly a night in this room does not come cheap as it will cost $350, but we suppose if you’re going with a friend then splitting the cost might make it more affordable.
