YouTube Music Premium Review: Top Search, No Ads

This week we’re taking a peek at the first release of YouTube Music Premium. That’s not the same service as any one of Google’s various Music-entwined services. Instead, it’s an amalgamation of the parts that’ve worked for Google in the past. In our first look at this app and the full features it serves, I’ve come away cautiously optimistic. The … Continue reading

FL Studio Is Finally Arriving On The Mac 20 Years Later

For those who do a lot of audio production on their computers, there are quite a few options available out there. Some of them are available for both platforms, while some are exclusive to certain platforms. One of those that was exclusive is Image-Line’s FL Studio, or better known as Fruity Loops in which it was exclusive to Windows.

However the good news for macOS users who have been dying to use it is that it looks like the Mac version is finally here, a good 20 years since the program was launched. Mac users have been asking the developer for a native Mac version for years, and it was only in 2013 that Image-Line finally began development on the native version of the app.

Dubbed FL Studio 20, the app is now available for purchase where it is priced at $99 for the most barebones version of the app, $199 for the Producer Edition, $299 for the Signature Bundle, and if you’re willing to shell out for all the bells and whistles, the FL Studio + All Plugins version will set you back $899.

Now the good news for Mac users is that if you’re already the owner of the Windows version of the app, you won’t need to purchase it again and can download the Mac version at no additional charge. Sessions are also expected to be compatible between platforms, although it should be noted that due to audio plug-in compatibility differences, 100% compatibility isn’t possible at least for now.

Apple To Allow All Users To Download Their Collected Data

Apple has always touted themselves as being a company that values the privacy of its customers and users, going as far as taking jabs at Facebook during the social network’s data privacy scandal. However there is the question of can Apple back up their claims on how they value their users’ privacy?

The good news is that they can and have only recently launched a new privacy portal so that users will be able to download a copy of everything the company has and knows about them based on their usage of Apple’s products and/or services. Of course one could argue that maybe this isn’t completely everything, but if you’re willing to take it at face value, then it could be worth taking a look at.

The launching of Apple’s Data and Privacy site is in conjunction with the EU’s GDPR rules and as such, it is only available to those living in the EU along with Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. We expect that Apple will eventually make it available to all of its users in the future, but if you from the EU or have an EU Apple account, then you can take a look at the information that Apple has collected on you thus far.
