Electronic Arts made a rather surprising announcement today, revealing that it has acquired GameFly’s cloud gaming assets and its personnel. We have, of course, heard a lot of talk about game streaming in recent years, with many big players in the games industry either considering a streaming service of their own or already trying their hand at it. It looks … Continue reading
It looks like Vivo is going to push forward with its APEX FullView concept phone we saw at Mobile World Congress this year. The handset with barely-there bezels, pop-up selfie cam and in-display fingerprint sensor will apparently be unveiled June 12t…
Sometimes it can be hard to keep track of what’s coming to and leaving Netflix. In the case of the former, at least, we can help. June brings new seasons of favorite shows, as well as some fun new summer movies and popular movies like Thor: Ragnarok…
OnePlus fans weren’t really that excited when the company first revealed that the OnePlus 6 would have a notched bezel-less display. The company listened to the feedback from its customers and announced that it will release an update after the handset ships which will let users hide the notch by applying a black bar around it. That update is now rolling out today and it brings a couple of new features as well.
The OnePlus 6 has already gone on sale. The company conducted pop-up events in key markets across the globe where customers could immediately pick up the new device. It has also started taking orders for the device on its website.
The company has now released the first software update for the OnePlus 6. It adds the ability to hide the notch by applying black space to either side of the notch. The relevant option can now be found in the settings app.
OnePlus has also added the ability to record slow-motion video n 720p@480fps and 1080p@240fps while enabling quick capture in Portrait Mode. The OnePlus Switch apps will be pre-loaded with this firmware update so that users can easily transfer data from a previous OnePlus device to the new one.
OnePlus has started rolling out this firmware update over-the-air so it should be available for all users in the not too distant future.

One of the reasons why most people choose to shop on Amazon is that the company allows you to return a product once you buy it and realize that it’s not too your liking. However, it appears that the company is now clamping down on abuse of this system. A new report reveals that the company is permanently banning Amazon customers who make too many returns. It has reportedly banned hundreds of customers so far which it felt were abusing the system.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Amazon has now started banning customers who return orders frequently. The report highlighted complaints from customers who say that the company didn’t alert them that they had returned too many items before banning them.
It’s far from the only retailer that’s doing this. Others often discreetly track how often customers return their orders and if they too feel that the system is being abused, they drop the banhammer as well.
Amazon has reportedly banned hundreds of people for this from late March to early April. A spokesman for the company told the scribe that “there are rare occasions where someone abuses our service over an extended period of time,” adding that “We never take these decisions lightly, but with over 300 million customers around the world, we take action when appropriate to protect the experience for all our customers.”

The new iPhones that Apple is due to launch this year will reportedly feature its A12 processor which will be built using the 7nm process technology. That’s what reports have suggested so far and if the latest is believed, Apple’s chip supplier has now started production of the 7nm A12 processors for the company’s upcoming new iPhones.
The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is the contract supplier for Apple’s chips and Bloomberg reports that it has started mass production of the processors for Apple’s 2018 iPhone lineup. If Apple is indeed going with this chip, it will be the first to use the 7nm process technology for a commercial device.
Smaller process technology enables chips to be faster and more efficient while obviously being smaller in size. Existing chips like the A11 Bionic and even the Snapdragon 845 from Qualcomm are built on the 10nm process. The industry as a whole has been working toward achieving mass production on the 7nm process for years.
TSMC won’t be the only one making 7nm chips. Samsung has also announced that it will start production of its 7nm chips at scale later this year. It currently manufactures chips for clients such as Qualcomm and its own semiconductor division. There were reports that Apple might go with Samsung again for the A12 but that doesn’t seem to be happening as the rumor mill is convinced that TSMC will be working with Apple on its next-generation chip.
