Jetpacks In Fortnite Are Finally Available

Many players have been waiting for jetpacks in Fortnite after it was revealed some three months ago that they will be added to this popular battle royale title. The wait is finally over for them today as Epic has now added jetpacks in Fortnite. The developer confirmed in a tweet that the update which brings this much-awaited addition to the title will be rolling out today.

It was first revealed some three months ago through a datamine that jetpacks will be coming to Fortnite. While the datamine suggested that they are linked to a new limited-time mode called Close Encounters, the game’s news section mentions that jetpacks in Fortnite will only be available for a limited time.

Speculation suggested that the mode may be related to a rather interesting combination of jetpacks and shotguns. Epic hasn’t provided any clarification on that just yet, though.

Jetpacks in Fortnite will be coming with the v4.2 content update that will be released for the title today at 8 am ET. There’s going to be no server downtime while this update is rolled out.

“Strap in and blast off with Jetpacks in the v4.2 Content Update,” Epic Games confirmed on the official Twitter account for Fortnite.

Chrome OS Will Soon Show Android Files In Files App

Chrome OS now plays much nicer with Android than it used to and recent commits to the Chromium Gerrit for Chrome OS have suggested that this will only continue to improve in the future. A recent code discovery revealed that the Chrome OS launcher will soon let users search for Android app shortcuts and today’s discovery reveals that Chrome OS will finally start showing Android files in the Files app.

This feature addition will be very useful on Chromebooks that are capable of running Android apps. Users will be able to see all Android files on their Chromebook using the Chrome OS Files app.

It’s currently not possible to do this on Chromebooks that can run Android apps. Files in Android’s /data/media can’t be viewed in the app, it’s the storage location that Android apps use to store files. Users only have access to the Android Downloads folder.

If users want to access a file that’s stored by an Android app in a different directory, they first have to move it to the cloud or the Android Downloads folder before they can access it on the Chromebook. With the native Files app allowing users to see all of Android’s external storage within the app, this is going to get much easier.

This remains an experimental feature for now which can be enabled through the flag titled –show-android-files-in-files-app. The “Android Files” option will then appear in the Chrome OS Files app. It will be available in the Canary builds soon as well.

PS4 Yakuza 3, 4, And 5 Remasters Confirmed

Sega’s Yakuza franchise has been quite popular down in Japan and only recently has its popularity been increasing in the West as titles from the series are gradually making their way to the market. The first releases from the Yakuza series have arrived on the PlayStation 4 in the West and those who played them have missed out on the earlier versions. They will be happy to know that remasters of Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 are now in the pipeline for the PS4.

The first game of the series was released for the PlayStation 2 back in 2005. It has landed on the PlayStation 4 in the West as Yakuza Kiwami. The development team actually remade the entire game in the same engine that was used for the original.

The second title in the series will be out this summer as the Yakuza Kiwami 2. Fans were obviously wondering if the remaining three chapters would be released for the PlayStation 4 and it’s now known for sure that they will be. The announcement will be made in the Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu that Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 are being remastered for PS4. The issue will be released tomorrow but it has already leaked in its conventional paper format.

Yakuza 3 remastered will be out for PS4 in Japan on August 9th, while Yakuza 4 will be out in the fall and Yakuza 5 will arrive in the spring of 2019. All remastered titles will have improved frame rate and resolution. It’s unclear as yet when they will arrive in the West.
