It’s time for yet another weekly Fortnite update, and this one is pretty exciting. This week, we’re getting the version 4.2 content update, and while the patch notes aren’t very long, this certainly seems to be a matter of quality over quantity. For starters, the jetpack has finally arrived in Fortnite Battle Royale, after Epic began teasing the item yesterday … Continue reading

Gamers have been finding it really difficult to get their hands on graphics cards recently due to the cryptocurrency mining rush. This caused prices to surge considerably thus putting the cards out of reach of those who just wanted to upgrade their gaming machines. The situation has improved in the past few weeks though and gamers will also like that NVIDIA has now launched a new budget option for them, it’s the GeForce GTX 1050 3GB.
Most NVIDIA fans are excited about the next-generation card that the company is due to launch in June but it also has other products up its sleeve. The GeForce GTX 1050 3GB has been quietly announced and it sits between the 2GB GTX 1050 and the 4GB 1050 Ti.
Despite its faster base clock, it has a lower memory bandwidth of 84GB/s. It does have 3GB of memory which means that this graphics card will be more than capable of handling recent games. It won’t appeal much to cryptocurrency miners, though, as they often require 3GB of VRAM at the very least.
It also has 768 CUDA cores with the company claiming that it should deliver a 10 percent performance gain when gaming compared to the 2GB GTX 1050 model. NVIDIA is going to release the new card next month as well. Pricing hasn’t been confirmed as yet but it’s expected to cost over $100.

Premium camera maker RED has been working on its first smartphone called the Hydrogen One for many months now. The company hasn’t revealed much about the device except that it’s going to have a 3D holographic display which will be capable of producing the 3D effect without requiring the user to wear glasses. The accessories that most companies make for their devices include cases and battery packs, RED is actually developing an 8K 3D camera for the Hydrogen One.
RED has teamed up with a company called Lucid to create an 8K 3D camera that’s going to work with the company’s Hydrogen One handset. The camera was displayed during RED’s Hydrogen One party. It touts two synced 4K cameras that can capture and convert video and pictures to 8K 4V.
The content can then be displayed on the smartphone’s 3D display. Lucid’s real-time 3D Fusion tech will be present on this camera which will be based on RED’s hardware and design expertise. It will also look like RED’s other cameras.
Users will even be able to drop their smartphone into the new camera so that it doubles as a display for it. This will let them view the content immediately in 3D/4V without requiring headsets.
Prices for the handset will start at $1,195 and it will be sold on Verizon and AT&T. No word on how much this camera will cost. RED is yet to confirm a release date for the Hydrogen One.

Amazon’s Prime Exclusive Phone program was launched in 2016. The company started offering handsets at a slightly discounted price to Amazon Prime members as long as they put up with ads on the lockscreen. It decided to change a fundamental aspect of this program a couple of months ago by removing lockscreen ads from the Prime Exclusive lineup. It continues to expand the lineup, though, with the LG K30 being the latest addition.
Even though it has removed lockscreen ads, it’s still selling these devices at a discount. Amazon only decided to do this because it recognized that fast unlocking technologies such as fingerprint sensors and facial recognition have essentially made the lockscreen obsolete.
So what is Amazon’s incentive for selling these discounted smartphones? It will pre-load its apps such as Alexa, Prime Music and Prime Video. For many customers, dealing with these apps would be much better than having to see ads on the lockscreen.
Starting today, Amazon Prime members will be able to purchase the LG K30 for $139.99. The handset normally costs $179.99. It’s a mid-range device with a 5.3 inch 720p resolution, Snapdragon 425 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It also features an 8 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera.
