Star Wars TIE Fighter Smartphone Car Mount

You have plenty of smartphone car mounts to chose from, but once you have seen this one, the choice is simple. You just have to go with this TIE Fighter-shaped car mount. It turns your AC vent into an Imperial fleet docking bay. A docking bay for one, but still.

This gadget has a 90-degree viewing rotation and can accommodate phones that are up to 3-inches wide. It mounts on your air vents and just looks awesome. It will definitely have you humming the Imperial March all day long too.

I really like the design. Do you think this is how TIE Fighter pilots mount their own smartphones in their TIE Fighters? The answer is, totally. It’s not like they’re going to use an X-Wing Mount. And even if they wanted to, that would get them in trouble with their superiors.

You can pre-order one now for $16.99… totally worth it, if you ask me. Just don’t wait too long, because these will sell out quickly.

Fujifilm X-T100 Specs Accidentally Revealed By Fujifilm EU

Fujifilm has a new camera in the works that they are expected to announce soon on the 24th of May, but it seems that someone over in Fujifilm EU might have gotten ahead of themselves and accidentally published the complete specs of the upcoming Fujifilm X-T100. The original posting was discovered by Nokishita Camera (via Fuji Rumors) which has since been taken down.

In terms of specs, the X-T100 will feature a 24.2MP APS-C sensor, a three-way tilting LCD monitor, and an electronic viewfinder. It will also support X-mounted lenses so if you’ve built up a collection over the years, then you should be able to use them with the X-T100 without any issue.

It also appears to be capable of capturing 4K video, although at a framerate of 15fps, maybe it’s not so ideal if you’re looking for a camera for videography. However it will be capable of capturing Full HD at 60fps if you’re OK with the resolution. There is also continuous shooting speeds of up to 6fps.

In terms of where the X-T100 will be positioned, it has been suggested that it will be a camera that tries to bridge the gap between the X-A5 and the X-T20 and X-E3. No word on pricing or availability yet, so we guess we’ll have to wait until the 24th of May for the official details.

The British Royal Wedding Will Be Streamable On YouTube

As many have probably heard by now, Britain’s Prince Harry will be marrying actress Meghan Markle this coming Saturday. For those who are interested in watching the wedding unfold, there will be multiple venues in which you could probably stream it, and it seems that YouTube will be one of them.

The Royal Family’s YouTube channel has recently posted a video for the upcoming Royal Wedding which will be taking place this Saturday. The video is scheduled to begin a live stream on the 19th of May at 12PM UK time, which if you’re living in the US will be around 7AM ET or 4AM PT, so you’ll want to mark your calendars and set your alarms accordingly.

Like we said there will most definitely be a bunch of other TV channels that will stream the event, but if you prefer watching on YouTube and reading/posting comments as the event unfolds, then you will be able to do so. The stream will follow the wedding procession, the marriage ceremony that will be taking place at Windsor Castle, and other events. It is also expected to be made available for replay later so if you miss it, not to worry as you’ll be able to watch it again.

Vietnam Launches Probe Into Grab-Uber Deal In Southeast Asia

A couple of months ago Uber announced that they would be selling off their operations in Southeast Asia to their rival Grab. However it seems that it wasn’t necessarily a done deal as it was suggested that Grab’s acquisition of Uber could be violating competition laws. We’ve seen regulators in the Philippines launch an investigation, and now it seems that Vietnam is next.

In a report from Reuters, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade said that they will be launching an “in-depth investigation” into Grab’s takeover of Uber in Southeast Asia. This is based on an initial probe in which they found that the takeover could be in breach of antitrust law.

The investigation is expected to take 180 days and can be extended by an additional 120 days, which means in theory it could take nearly a year to complete, which means that the deal won’t be finalized anytime soon. Neither company has commented on the investigation, but given that Southeast Asia is a pretty big market and consists of a few countries, we wouldn’t be surprised if more oppositions to the deal were to pop up along the way.

Uber has so far successfully sold off their operations in countries like China and Russia, but those were to local competitors. This deal in Southeast Asia would be to a single company who operates in multiple regions, which if it had gone through would effectively leave no alternative (save for taxis and private car companies).
