Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Royale Player Count Still Undecided

Treyarch recently announced the next Call of Duty game which will be Black Ops 4. They also announced that there will be a new battle royale mode added to the game called Blackout, and while the launch trailer for Blackout looked impressive along with the promises laid out by the developer, there is still one thing that is unclear: how many players will it support?

Given that Treyarch stated that the Blackout map will be the biggest map ever in the series, 1,500 times bigger than Nuketown, it sounds like it would be epic, but it appears that the developer is still unsure on how many players the map would support at once as apparently they are still experimenting with the player count, according to Treyarch’s studio design director David Vonderhaar who spoke to GameSpot.

According to Vonderhaar, “We haven’t actually decided. We have to create the best experience, and to create that experience in a Call of Duty universe, you have to try various flavors of that until you find the right one.” Considering that this will be a battle royale style map, it means that it needs to go beyond the current multiplayer limit otherwise it won’t feel different.

That being said, battle royale style games such as Fortnite and PUBG support 100 players and considering their popularity, perhaps Treyarch could be looking to do the same, but either way we’ll have to wait and see.

Valve Apologizes To DotA 2 Fans For ‘Poor Production’ Baby Roshan Statue

For 2017’s The International DotA 2 tournament, Valve launched a Battle Pass system which is similar in concept to previous compendiums, where players can achieve levels to unlock certain perks in the game. These not only take time, but they also cost money, which is why the higher-end rewards then to be pretty exclusive.

Such was the case for last year’s The International where those who hit Level 2000 in the Battle Pass would be getting a physical Baby Roshan statue, which is supposed to look like the render above. Unfortunately, it seems that the actual product was far from what was advertised, as you can see from photos uploaded onto Reddit by user KitsuneKamiSama, so much so that Valve had to apologize and announce that they would be resending the statues again.

According to Valve, “It has come to our attention that the physical Baby Roshan reward for last year’s Battle Pass has had poor production quality yields. We apologize to our fans for that, it is well below the quality we expected. We are going to start from scratch on new production for the statue, and prioritize delivering it as soon as possible to every customer that reached level 2000 last year.”

No word on when the new statues will be sent out, but we suppose at least Valve acknowledged it and is fixing it.

Nokia X6 Could Remain Exclusive To China

A couple of days ago, HMD Global officially announced the Nokia X6. The initial launch was made in China which had some wondering about its worldwide availability, but then again given that HMD sometimes announces phones in China before the rest of the world, we suppose it was only a matter of waiting.

Unfortunately that might not be the case, according to a report from NPU who claims that based on a tip that they’ve gotten, the Nokia X6 might remain exclusive to the Chinese market. It goes on to state that HMD could be launching two more X-series smartphones, the Nokia X5 and the Nokia X7, although unfortunately their specs are unclear at this point in time.

If the rumors are true, it would be a bit of a bummer as the Nokia X6 is actually a pretty sleek-looking handset with a full screen display, similar to what we’ve seen other handset makers introduce to their high-end flagship phones. Granted the X6 doesn’t pack particularly high-end hardware, but like we said, for its price and for its design, it’s actually a pretty decent handset.

It is possible that either the Nokia X5 and X7 could feature designs similar to the X6 so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see. HMD has confirmed that they are hosting an event on the 29th of May so perhaps we will learn more about these phones then.

RED Hydrogen One Will Be Coming To AT&T, Verizon This Summer

Last year high-end camera maker RED announced that they would be getting into the smartphone business with an upcoming handset called the Hydrogen One. It was originally intended for a launch in the first quarter of the year, but that clearly did not happen, and a report from earlier this month revealed that the company had delayed it to make some improvements.

For those who are still considering getting their hands on the phone, the good news is that we might now have a timeframe to look forward to and it is this coming summer. Both AT&T and Verizon have announced that they will be carrying the phone which will be made available in the summer (or in Verizon’s case, “later this year”), but stopped short of actually announcing any details of the phone or specific dates.

If you’re learning about the Hydrogen One for the first time, this will be RED’s attempt at launching a smartphone. RED is a company known for their high-end camera equipment which is used by Hollywood studios to film their movies. It will be interesting to see if they will be able to take that experience and condense it into a smartphone.

Like we said details about the phone are scarce but apparently it will feature a mysterious holographic display and camera capable of recording 3D video. It is also expected to come with a $1,200 price tag, but whether or not it will be worth it remains to be seen.
