iPhone Users Can Now Project Waze On Their Ford Dashboards

While CarPlay and Android Auto are some of the options that car owners have today, more often than not we see carmakers use their own infotainment systems. Sometimes these infotainment systems come with a built-in navigation app, but the only downside to such apps is that they aren’t always connected, which means that updated routes, changes to roads, traffic, and so on aren’t taken into consideration.

This is where mobile navigation apps such as Waze shine, and the good news for Ford owners with an iPhone is that together with Waze, iPhone users will now be able to project their aps on the built-in displays on Ford dashboards, with Waze being the focus in this particular announcement.

All this requires is the SYNC AppLink, a connected iPhone, the latest version of Waze, and iOS 11.3 or later. Waze itself will continue to run on the iPhone, but microphone and touch controls have been moved over to the car. This means that users won’t need to fiddle around with their phones while they drive and can instead rely on the bigger screen of their dashboard along with voice controls.

According to Don Butler, executive director, connected vehicle platform and product, Ford Motor Company, “Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for people to access the smartphone features, apps and services they care about most in the car, without having to pick up their device. With Waze, our customers get the benefits they’re accustomed to with the added luxury of experiencing them on a bigger screen.”

iPad Robot Attends High School Graduation On Behalf Of Hospitalized Student

Graduating from high school is a pretty big moment in the lives of students as it signifies that they are now ready for the next step in life, which more often than not is either college or university. This is why attending the graduation ceremony is a big deal for both parents and students.

Unfortunately in the case of high school student Cynthia Pettway, this almost didn’t happen as she was hospitalized a week before her ceremony. However thankfully thanks to a loan by USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, she managed to attend her graduation ceremony virtually with the use of a remote controlled iPad robot.

Speaking to WKRG, Stephanie Maddox of the Mobile County Public School System said, “She has worked very hard to get here and was devastated… So when we introduced this idea to her… Took us a little while to convince her that although she couldn’t be here physically, she could be here remotely… And after that she got on board and was very excited about it.”

In the video above you can see Cynthia dressed in her graduation robes on the screen of the iPad as it rolled forward to collect her diploma. According to Cynthia, the ceremony was particularly important to her as she was her grandmother’s first grandchild to “walk this stage”, and so she knew that she had to, even if it meant “rolling” across it virtually instead.

No Man’s Sky Coming To Xbox One July 24

A couple of months ago it was confirmed that No Man’s Sky would be headed to the Xbox One, but no specific date was provided at that time. However according to a previous leak in which the game was spotted listed on Amazon Italy, it suggested that the game could be released on the 29th of June.

However it turns out that the leak was off its mark because it has since been officially confirmed that No Man’s Sky will be arriving on the Xbox One come 24th of July, about a month later than the previously rumored date, although we suppose better late than never. This was revealed by Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray during the Inside Xbox stream.

It is also expected to launch with all of the game’s previous updates so Xbox One gamers will be able to dive into all of the available content right off the bat. In addition to announcing the release date for the Xbox One, Murray also shared additional details on the game’s upcoming “Next” update which is expected to bring an improved multiplayer experience.

The game currently does have a limited form of multiplayer, but with the update, players will be able to interact with other players better, such as grouping up with them to survive, build, race, and relax. According to Murray, “It’s the kind of game that myself and a lot of other people have always wanted to play in a multiplayer world.”
