Fast charging is a feature that quite a few Android OEMs have introduced to their phones and it seems to be slowly becoming a standard. However as far as iPhone users are concerned, Apple only introduced fast charging to its iPhones last year, but even then it wasn’t exactly a straightforward process where users could expect it right out of the box.
However that is expected to change this year where according to the rumors, Apple will be introducing a new fast charger that will be bundled with their iPhones. Now according to a report from Charger Lab, alleged renders of the upcoming charger have been leaked, although admittedly it doesn’t really look like much.
For those unfamiliar with the previous rumor, it basically said that Apple would bundle 18W USB-C fast chargers with the 2018 iPhones. They will also be bundling a USB-C to Lighting cable which makes a lot of sense when you consider that Apple has pretty much done away with all USB-A ports on its laptops, which means that iPhone users looking to charge/connect their iPhones to their laptops either need to buy a new cable or use an adapter.
Like we said Apple has brought fast charging to its latest iPhones but users would require a 29W, 61W, or 87W USB-C Power Adapter which is sold separately (unless you have one of Apple’s newer MacBooks). With Apple possibly bundling a charger and cable, it will make it a lot easier for users in the future.

If you own a mid-2012 or early-2013 MacBook Pro and you’ve been dying to get your hands on a battery replacement, you’ll be pleased to learn that Apple has apparently fully restocked their supply of said batteries. This was following a year-long shortage of the batteries which meant that MacBook Pro users looking for a replacement were hard pressed to do so.
In case you’re learning about this issue for the first time, back in March 2017, Apple notified service technicians that there would be a severe constraint of top cases for the MacBook Pro models. For those unfamiliar, the top case is the aluminum enclosure of the MacBook Pro that houses the keyboard, trackpad, and speaker grilles.
However with the mid-2012 and early-2013 MacBook Pros, Apple actually glued the batteries for the laptop to the top case with a very strong adhesive, meaning that replacing the batteries was not as straightforward a task as it should have been. However now that it has been restocked, repairs should be back to normal.
However it should be noted that because supply levels for the batteries are back to normal, Apple will no longer be giving customers free repairs due to the delay. Instead Apple will charge customers its standard out-of-warranty fee which is $199, which is also waived if customers are under the AppleCare+ plan.
