Fortnite Competitive Mode Possibly Being Developed

Insanely popular battle royale title Fortnite could be getting a competitive mode if a new report is to be believed. It claims that Epic Games is developing a competitive mode for Fortnite. The possibility has come up after data miners dug deep into the new Fortnite updates in a bid to reveal unannounced skins, features, and additional content. They feel that a competitive mode is in the pipeline over at Epic Games.

The game files for Fortnite have folders for each game mode. They even contain folders for limited time modes such as the one with Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War. When the latest patch is applied, a new folder is spotted which is only named Comp which might be short for Competitive.

To some, this might seem like a stretch and wishful thinking but given that this folder has been found where the folders for all game modes are, it hints at the possibility of this title getting its first competitive mode.

The new folder only has a solo variant which might mean that Epic Games could only release a competitive solo first before expanding it to duos and squads. Epic Games hasn’t confirmed anything about this so far which means that we’ll have to wait in order to find out whether or not Fortnite is actually getting a competitive mode.

Nokia 8 Pro Camera Update Arriving Soon

HMD Global, the company that’s making Nokia-branded smartphones now, has talked about releasing a Pro Camera update for the Nokia 8 over the past few months. The update would address some of the concerns that users have had about the camera software on the company’s flagship smartphone. It appears that HMD Global might soon put its words into action by actually rolling out the much-awaited Nokia 8 Pro Camera update in the near future.

Many of the new camera features are already included in the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco which has understandably made Nokia 8 owners feel left out. HMD Global had promised to release the Pro Camera update for the Nokia 8 and had even said that it may bring the update to other devices in the lineup too.

Juho Sarvikas recently revealed why it has taken the company so long to release the update. He pointed out that HMD Global has had to overhaul the entire imaging framework which is something that required months of work and took longer than anticipated.

“We will update shortly,” he said, which means that it’s only a matter of time now before the Nokia 8 Pro Camera update is finally released. Nokia 8 owners will certainly be looking forward to this update as it will enable them to get the most out of the dual camera system on their handsets.

Battlefield 5 Name Confirmed, EA Releases Official Logo

There has been a lot of speculation about the upcoming Battlefield title. EA had previously confirmed that it would be releasing a new Battlefield title this year. Previous reports had suggested that the new title might be called Battlefield 5. EA has now confirmed that the upcoming game is indeed called Battlefield 5 and it has even revealed the official logo of the game through Twitter.

It has been officially confirmed by Electronic Arts that the 2018 addition to this popular franchise will be called Battlefield 5. It has also tweeted the first look at the logo along with a message which reiterates when the full reveal will take place.

EA is going to live stream the Battlefield 5 reveal event on YouTube, Twitch, and Mixer on May 23rd at 1 pm PT and 4 pm ET. The live reveal is going to be hosted by The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah.

The new Battlefield game is the successor to the hugely popular Battlefield 1 title which was set during the first World War. The game was very well received so fans will be interested in seeing how the developer is going to follow up that hit with this year’s title.

Developer DICE said in a recent blog post that the new title’s story campaign is going to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor. It also confirmed that War Stories are returning in which the story progresses by following several protagonists at different stages with each having multiple short missions.

While previous reports had suggested that this title would be set during World War 2, DICE is yet to officially confirm that, but we will find that out for sure once the title is officially revealed on May 23rd.
