Lenovo’s New ThinkCentre Desktop Features 8th Gen Intel Chips

Lenovo today announced its new lineup of flexible and modular ThinkCentre desktops that have been designed for workplaces. Even though desktops are fixed assets and can’t be taken by employees on the road, they do help optimize smaller workplace while reducing IT burden and downtime. Lenovo’s new options come in the tower and small form factors.

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M920 tower features the 8th Generation Intel Core processors with vPro capabilities. It has a clean black chassis with a reduced depth to easily fit in smaller workspaces. It supports upgradeability with PCIe expansion cards and support Thuderbolt or discrete graphics.

There’s also a trusted platform module security chip and a physical chassis e-lock to protect key components inside the tower from unauthorized access. The lineup also includes the M720 tower. Both will be available this July and pricing will be revealed closer to release.

Lenovo has also updated the Tiny series which shrinks down many of the features of the tower to a “one-liter form factor,” according to the company. The M920 Tiny is the industry’s first product in this form factor that offers PCIe expansion options. The M920 Tiny family also supports Thunderbolt port expansion while the M920x Tiny will offer a discrete graphics option as well.

The M720 Tiny offers separate options for quad Network Interface Card or Serial port expansion. The ThinkCentre M920 Tiny and the M720 Tiny will also be released in July this year. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
