Google Partners With Fandango, Lets You Buy Tickets With Assistant

Google Assistant can help you do a lot of things, and now it seems that it can do one more thing which is to help users buy tickets. This is made possible through a partnership with Fandango, according to a report from The Verge where through voice commands, users will be able to ask Google Assistant to help them purchase tickets for movies.

This will work on all devices that have Google Assistant running on it, which means that it works on your phone, tablets, and also Google Home devices. However as noted by Variety, if you use Google Home to make a purchase request, the process will actually be sent over to your smartphone once you’ve picked a movie and a showtime, so that’s something to take note of if you are planning on doing that.

No doubt that this is a rather useful feature to have, plus users will also be able to check for showtimes at cinemas near them using voice commands, so you could just be sitting at home and check showtimes and purchase tickets using just your voice instead of fiddling with your phone. The feature should already be live so if you are planning on catching a movie in the near future, then this is something you’ll want to take note of.

Apple To Address iPhone 7, 7 Plus Microphone Issues

It seems that following the iOS 11.3 update, some iPhone 7 and 7 Plus owners are reporting issues with their microphones. According to the reports, some users are claiming that they can’ be heard during phone calls or FaceTime video calls. The good news is that Apple is aware of the problem and plan to address it.

According to an internal document distributed to Apple Authorized Service Providers obtained by MacRumors, Apple has acknowledged the issue and have informed these service providers of the problems that they might be hearing from customers. It doesn’t seem to be a particularly widespread problem but it does sound annoying enough.

Unfortunately it also doesn’t seem like a problem that can be fixed with a software update. According to the document, Apple is prepared for service providers to initiate a repair for the iPhone, meaning that they believe that this could be a hardware problem. Apple also seems to be allowing service providers to make an exception for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus handsets that are no longer covered by warranty, meaning that you could probably get it fixed for free.

In any case if you are experiencing issues with your handset’s microphone following the iOS 11.3 update, you should probably make an appointment with an Apple Authorized Service Provider to get it looked it.
