Alleged Images Of SNK Neo Geo Mini Revealed

Earlier last month Japanese gaming company SNK teased that they were planning on reviving one of their older, classic consoles, the Neo Geo. The company has yet to officially unveil the device, but YouTuber Spawn Wave has uploaded a video onto his channel in which he reveals what the console looks like based on images emailed to him by a “trusted source”.

Based on the images, it certainly looks like the silhouette that SNK teased in their photo. According to Spawn Wave, the console is said to feature a 3.5-inch display and will feature a built-in joy-stick and button set. Apparently this console was designed for portability, although it does look a bit awkward to bring around with, but admittedly it does look rather cute.

The console will also support additional controllers whose images have been leaked as well, showing that they will come in a white/black variant. It will also come preloaded with 40 games from SNK’s franchises which include King of Fighters and Metal Slug. Safe to say it should be taken with a grain of salt for now as SNK has yet to officially announce anything, such as pricing or availability.

As Spawn Wave points out, if his video does get taken down, then there is a chance that the leaks could be right.

‘Record Player’ Is The Shazam For Album Covers

Say you’re in a record store and there are tons of albums that catch your attention that you want to remind yourself to stream later on Spotify. What do you do? One option would be to write down the album titles and add it later, or maybe you can add it to your Spotify playlist there and then, but that might take a while for you to search.

Turns out there might be another, faster way. Dubbed “Record Player”, this is a web app developed by Patrick Weaver that’s essentially the Shazam of album covers. What it does is that it scans the image of the album cover and will attempt to match it with what’s in Spotify’s catalogue. Of course this will depend on whether or not Spotify has it in their catalogue to begin with, but if they do then it shouldn’t really be an issue.

It could also be used for fun where if you’re bored, you can actually try taking a selfie and use it to scan Spotify’s catalogue of music for an album that somehow resembles your face or the faces of your friends. It’s an interesting app but like we said, it exists as a web app for now and it is unclear if there are plans to eventually properly bring it to iOS and Android.

However if you’re interested in taking it for a spin, you will need to have a Spotify account, and if you already do then head on over to the app’s website to take it for a spin.
